anyone ever play the odds, banking the possiblility of overtime, with nhl 3 way lines? i'm gonna keep an eye on these over the next week to see if it has potential to be profitable.
2 games i would keep an eye on today:
jets vs devils
devils should get the w, however the jets have played everyone close as of late. they have lost by 2 their past two games, but both deficits were as result of a final minute empty net goal. they have a high probability of keeping it close. here are the odds to watch.
jets regulation win: +195
draw(game goes to OT) +320
a one unit play on each would make a small profit if the jets win, or a nice profit if the game goes to overtime. you drop 2 units if the devils win in regulation.
canucks vs red wings
canucks are the better team here. they had yesterday off while make the trip from nashville to detroit. the wings played a physical division rivalry game last night vs the preds. i think vancouver should take it or at least keep it close. i actually like the odds of this one going to overtime. here are the current odds.
I saw some stuff on another forum about this...the theory is that with the short schedule points are more important so teams will play for the tie more to preserve at least a point...not sure how it's been working since then...
I play quite a bit of my NHL plays using the 3 way lines esp on ML favs over 150. With NHL like MLB i hardly ever play a ML fav over 150 so these 3 way lines although tricky at times offer me some value on way i bet on hockey.
at first glance this morning i do not plan on watching these lines for any games today. i'll check back this afternoon. possibly the ducks and idk about the preds/stars game because the line is not up for that one yet.
