Devin Thomas is developing into a dominant force on both ends of the floor for the Jackets, averaging 9.5 points and 9.2 rebounds per game in ACC play while scoring double digits in 7 of the last 9. Wake is dropping too many close games which as the season gets longer is eating into their NIT hopes.
Creighton -4.5 over Evansville:
The road is getting tougher for the Blue Jays who have lost 3 straight. A win today will put them back on the good graces to make the tourney. Doug McDermott and Jahenns Manigant should be able to shoot the Jays out of a slump where they have made only 27% of their 3's during the losing streak. However Creighton leads the nation in shooting (51%) and from beyond the arc (43%).
Butler -12 over Fordham:
The Rams have lost 5 straight and Butler has a chance to shake off it's funk over the last few games. If Andrew Smith returns after missing 2 games with an abdominal injury, it gives the Bulldogs the added low post presence it needs to complement a lethal perimeter game.
Missouri PK over Arkansas:
The Tigers are coming off a 42 point walloping of Miss St, their first win of the season shooting 54% overall. Keion Bell and Jabari Brown are a 1-2 punch for Mizzou and will be reckoned with come tourney time. Arkansas is also coming off a road win their first against Auburn, but lack size and may have to win the SEC Tourney to make the big dance.
Michigan St -9.5 over Nebraska:
The Spartans are tied for the Big Ten lead with No. 1 Indiana. Coach Izzo is turning up the heat and expects Sparty to play capable of their ranking not to look ahead against lesser opponents. Michigan State is getting a balanced effort from all over the floor. Nix and Adreian Payne are playing well inside, Branden Dawson and reserve freshman Denzel Valentine are excelling as slashers while Harris and point guard Keith Appling are keeping teams on their heels on the perimeter.
Arizona St +7 over Colorado:
Extremely important game for both teams. ASU suffered a tough loss at the hands of Utah last time out Carrick Feliz will need to have a big game as he has posted quite a few double doubles. Jordan Bachynski is a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball down low. Too many points here.
Oregon St +3.5 over Washington
The Huskies looked real flat their last time out losing to Oregon while the Beavers handed Washington St their 5th straight loss. This has the makings of a rough and tumble matchup, but go with the team that has playing better as of late.
GL to all on Saturday!
