Jordan was one of the greatest, I don't think otherwise. But the media and hype machine put it on a different level that just isn't true. He was a gunner, a great defender too, and shot well from the line. He wasn't a great outside shooter, great finisher sure, and yes, clutch.
Everyone seems to forget the losses they did have, and the Bulls teams that DID win, the talent around him. Pippen was an MVP candidate himself, a HOF player. Hell, when Jordan left, Pippen took that team to the ECFs! They were very good! Rodman is a HOF player. They had dynamite teams, it just wasn't MJ. The media painted him a God.
Of course, me being a Laker fan, I'm biased and hated him. Not to mention every bandwagon fan on earth being a Bulls fan during that time.
Anyway, I just find it interesting that people automatically compare Kobe or Lebron to MJ. I guess because of the spots they play. I'd compare Lebron more to Magic. Kobe and MJ are fair comparisons. But then people say "greatest ever?" C'mon. I'll take Wilt or Kareem if I had to choose. Or Oscar. I'd take a few before MJ anyway.
I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.
