The best sports handicappers preview today’s AFC East match up at Sun Life Stadium between the 5-9 Bills, and the 6-8 Dolphins. This battle of sub .500 teams will certainly be a highly wagered game. The Bills are currently 5-9 Against the spread, while the total 8-6 in favor of the over this season. While the Dolphins are 7-7 against the spread and the over is 5-9.
Current Vegas Odds have the Dolphins as 4.5 point favorites while the total currently sits at 41.5 The experts are leaning heavily towards the Miami spread, and are also betting the total to stay under. Public money is also being placed on Miami, however the public expects the total to go over.
The Bills have not exactly come as advertised this season. Their offense ranks 20th in average yards per game at 340.8, while they score 21.9 points per game, which is good for 19th in the league. One thing is for sure, CJ Spiller likes to run, he has gathered 1047 yards to go along with his 7 touchdowns this year. Keep an eye on Ryan Fitzpatrick who touts an 83.5 QB rating, a 61.7 completion percentage, and 2935 yards this year. His 22 touchdowns are definitely a solid number, but he needs to significantly cut down on his 15 interceptions.
The Dolphins have not been stellar on the offensive side of the football either, ranked 27th in the league in average yardage (316.2). The passing game certainly leaves something to be desired at 203.6 (23rd) and they score less than 20 points per game; which is certainly not something anyone should be proud of. Tannehill will certainly give Dolphin fans something to look forward to in the future. His rating is 75.9, but has thrown more interceptions than he has touchdowns (10-12). Reggie Bush leads the rushing attack with 895 yards in 200 attempts, and 5 touchdowns.
The interesting trend here is that the favorite is 4-1 against the spread over their last 5 meetings. Both teams still have playoff hopes, although the Dolphins is much more far fetched than those of the Bills.
