Surprisingly the Saints, Cowboys and Eagles are all 3-5. Most had them in the playoffs this year. Even some had them in the superbowl... So that said do you think any of these teams can actually still make the playoffs?
Cowboys/Eagles play this week so one of them will be out. At 3-6 winning out the rest of the way is probably highly unlikely...
Even though I think the Cowboys and Eagles are better overall I think the Saints have a better shot but looking at all the schedules its probably more likely none of them make it which is hard to believe
Hard to see any of these three teams making the playoffs as they stand today. They all have some major issues which is evident as to the losing record but there problems just don't seem like things they can fix on the fly and run off 6-7 wins in a row to me.
Cowboys are just an all around mess , the egales defensive team wasn't a coach problem it seems and more a player problem and vick is a moving turnover waiting to happen, and Saints D is well setting records for worse defense in history soooo
If one of them can get hot I think they have a shot (probably winner of Cowboys/Eagles this week)...if you look at who's there now...I don't see any of Atlanta, Chicago, Green Bay, Giants, San Fran falling out of the race, so there's really only one spot up for grabs and it's a tie with Seattle and Minnesota...I could see both of those teams falling out and one of the 3 mentioned sneaking in, although I would have to give Detroit at 4-4 a better chance than any of the other 3....
The momentum right now is clearly with the Saints considering they've won 3 of their last 4. Last night was by far their best defensive effort of the season, with the running game and defense taking significant pressure off of Drew Brees. Sadly, what glimmer of hope is left for my Cowboys would at the very least start with a win in Philly this Sunday, which would still put them on the wild card fringes at 4-5. The team that loses as Ryan mentions is gone.
Of course the NFC South would be out of reach since Atlanta, who New Orleans hosts this weekend is 8-0 and 5 games up on the Saints. However stranger things have happened and as lucky as Atlanta has been to survive as still the league's lone undefeated, a valiant effort by the Saints could at the very least save the season and as well could put them back on the postseason radar.

The so called "Experts" keep stating that "The Birds" have played the bottom of the barrel teams, what they forget to tell you is that "The Birds" had a lot to do to make those teams the bottom of the barrel teams...lol Have not seen Atlanta play each and every game with a chip on their shoulder and finally whether pretty or not, they have for once a mean streak considering they are without their top CB as well as LB.
I think the reason they are overlooked is because of past seasons they had good records and then got blasted in the playoffs unless they do some damage in the playoffs this year they will never shake that
The falcons offer same stigma that a lot of Atlanta teams do and that is they can play well in many sports in regular season but come playoff time its 99.5% of the time a flop. Until they do something to change that stigma they will be overlooked somewhat.
