Lots of talk this morning over the decision to go ahead with the marathon on Sunday and the football game was brought up....hard to know where the Giants players heads are going to be amongst all of this....
Also the Steelers schedule will be disrupted from their norm as they can't fly in the day before because there's no place for them to stay so they will fly in the morning of game day which will obviously be a major change to their game day routine...
Not sure how all of this is going to impact the game....guessing the crowd will be pretty fired up being in dire need of a distraction from all of the mess...what does everyone think? Giants come out playing with strong emotions and blow them out or are they going to be too worried about stuff going on at home and in the city?
It truly hard to tell how people will react! I know when Katrina hit, the Saints did a lot for the moral of the city as well as helping with the re-building! However they didn't play here at the time due to the damage - they played out of state at the alamo dome in San Antonio for a 3 games and at LSU's Tiger Stadium for 4 games so we didn't have the problem of where the other teams stayed and such! I can see where that could be a factor (to a degree)
Personally I feel that if there is no personal danger to the players and fans at the stadium then they should play! The fans need that few hours in time to know things can and will get back to normal! I think the players do as well! It's like falling off the ole bike as a kid! No matter how bad the fall it's best to get back up and try again or you may never ride again!
I say play ball and let the let the world know - "we survived and things Will return to normal one day soon!"
I think you nailed it on the crowd - it will have a pretty rowdy feel to it, not to mention the amount of Steelers fans that will be in the crowd! Both teams probably going to feed off the energy and whats been going on this week will be an after thought for about 3 hours!
