JIMMY THE GREEK SAYS

Northern Illinois -35 over Massachusetts:
The Minutemen haven't had a break through season in their first year as a Div I club but nobody really expected any thing earth shattering from them in their initial foray in to the MAC. Even though there are still four games remaining on the schedule, the numbers tell us Massachusetts has suffered from a lack of scoring punch at just over eleven points while the defensive side of the ball has been touched for nearly 42 points. That makes their record crystal clear to casual football fan as the growing pains are a normal part of the transition. UMass received a 49-7 loss at the hands of Vanderbilt in week nine as the offense and defense struggled once again. The Commodores owned a 443-264 advantage in real estate with the Minutemen doing very little on the ground and forcing the passing of Mile Wegzyn (15-27/162) to carry the load. Wegzyn and the receiving corps weren't able to get the job done and his lone pick ended up in the end zone.

Northern Illinois has been a monster in the MAC West thus far but all that has gotten them is a tie for first in the MAC West at 5-0 with Toledo. The Rockets come to town next week so the Huskies can ill afford any slip up against the big underdog Massachusetts. NIU has been very good at avoiding let downs with all five of their conference victories coming by double digits. The Huskies have been the entire package with a potent offense and a stifling defense leading their success with both units having a hand in Saturday's 48-34 win over Western Michigan. Both teams totaled over 450 yards with both able to run and throw. Jordan Lynch was the do every thing player with 136 rushing yards with a pair of touchdowns while throwing for 274 yards with another four scores. The one difference was field position with Huskies enjoying a 44 yard interception return and 44 yard punt return.

Don't feel alarmed of the enormous spread which is the largest in any of the division one games in week 10. Just like a few weeks back when Louisiana Tech crushed Idaho by 42 as a 28 point favorite, and the lean with Oregon -47 obliterating Colorado by 56 as the Ducks rolled 70 on the brutal Buffs. Sue me if you don't care for gigantic chalk, but we will aim for our 5th straight as the Huskies will pour it on all day and all night against the Minutemen. Best of luck however you play!

Another best bet that comes in as easy as pie and that's our 5th straight after a 1-4 start as the Huskies roll a 63 point shutout! Be sure to check back here every week for another top play! Thanks and congrats to all that followed!
