Pablo Sandoval is unbelievable

He homered in his first three plate appearances in San Francisco, by far the most difficult park to homer in, and two of the homers were off Verlander.

His feat begs the question...has any other hitter ever done that in a world series...and if so...what is that record??

they said he tied the world series record with 3, actually (remember Pujols tied it).

The 4 homer games were not done in the World Series.

Sandoval became the 4th guy to hit 3 and tie for the record.

NY Times article

"For more than three decades, Reggie Jackson had been the only man alive to hit three home runs in a World Series game. Babe Ruth had done it before him, twice, but since Jackson’s magical night in 1977, nobody living could relate. "

Verlander's face was great after the second one...he was truly stunned....couldn't believe what just happened...

Changing my mind. giants are going to win the series. Everything going their way. They are a team of fate.

they beat the cards in game 7 when pence's bat broke and hit the ball three times, changing it from a DP to a 3 run scoring play

then a key hit in WS game 1 when a grounder hit the bag

Gotta admit they really looked sharp last night! Pablo had a great night hope he does that for years to come ( he's one of my keepers for next year in fantasy bases)

Congrats to Sandoval! He got lucky in a good spot. Smashing 3 homers in the World Series opener is a much bigger feat than doing the same thing during meaningless regular season game..

Sandoval is good. Definitely above average power hitter, but not quite among the top sticks in the league. This was probably once in a lifetime kind of a game for him, but he is still young and could improve in the coming years. Wouldn't rule out the possibility of him doubling his homer total on some of the coming seasons.

pretty good hitter, 129 career OPS+

not elite, but most teams would want him
