For those on the Yanks today.....

Honest, serious question here, not trying to bang on your play because I'm on the other side but....

Is it just a value play with the money? I can't for the life of me figure why anyone would play the Yankees here. Even if you were wary, just not even play it.

Yanks have more than half the lineup hitting under .200, and their best player is out for the year. Their captain, their leader. Now facing the best pitcher in baseball, at his home park.

I know, it's sports, and anything can happen, and hell, it usually does. With that said, other than a hunch, any intelligent reasons to back New York here? I just don't see it. I like to go against the grain myself, but can't do it here.

I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.

You have to think that there's going to be a game in this series whether it's this one or next where at some point the Yanks are going to break out of it. Even against Verlander, Detroit's best pitcher, this lineup is capable of putting together some big innings including the struggling regulars. Sure the value is there at +170 or so but knowing the pressure is on away from Yankee Stadium, you know the Tigers don't want to return there and even 2 wins out of 3 on the road could switch every bit of momentum if the Yankees are still alive after game 5.

I normally like to fade Hughes, but he's pitched well down the stretch.

The Yankees vs. Verlander aren't that bad, actually.

Yankees get to escape from their gloomy half-empty stadium .

The Yankees have to start hitting at some point. Cano and Granderson are talented.

I am going to wait and see if the line goes up because all I'm reading online is how the Yankees have no shot.

That's my major concern. "No shot." We all know what that means. LOL. Still, just can't do it, and am gonna back Verlander here.

I see it as Yanks or no play for me. Jeter injury rings so loud headlines wise added in to Verlander on mound and the Detroit Money is just flowing in which always bothers me.

I look at it this way....if there was a full slate of baseball games and I had 6-8 plays going would one of them be the Yankees as a big dog? No doubt it would, but it just becomes magnified because it's the only game and it would suck to lose it...8 plays and I go 5-3 and one of the losses was the Yanks as a big dog I'd be absolutely fine...

No way can I lay the big wood, but there's no "value" in a losing bet IMO - LOL....I kind of like iwutitan's idea of the Detroit TT under that way if Verlander's a stud and they win 2-0 or 3-1 it will still win....hmmmmm....every time I bet a team total I seem to lose though - LOL....

Why not take a shot on a nice sized dog? Even though they haven't hit that well in the postseason, Yankees are still a good team and this is baseball. +170 was enought for me to try them. There's always big element of luck and randomness involved in each baseball game.

I hear ya people, I do. But, I'm going Detroit RL, small play.
Verlander.
Yanks are horrible right now.
No short porch in right field either.
Verlander.

Might be a "Joe Public" play set up to lose, but eh, whatever, I'm rolling with it.

Yea I am with Detroit small, think Verlander dominates. Yankees hitters look lost and its not going to get better here. Post season is different and the power bats get pitched to differently. HIstorically alot of Yankees have poor post season numbers and dont see that changing..

Well, if figures. What I thought would happen, happened, and I still lost my play. I tell ya, I'm about 4-18 all time when I bet run lines. GRRR.
