My dad grew up in a tiny town about 2 hours west of Baltimore and my grandfather got me into baseball when I was a kid and he was obviously a major Orioles fan so I have been a life-long fan myself....been an awful long time since they played a meaningful game this late in the season and I found myself really rooting for a baseball game (one that I didn't bet on - LOL) for the first time in a long time last night...what a great finish as the bullpen blew the 6-1 lead but the offense came back and exploded in the bottom of the 8th for 4 of their own to win 10-6...I was standing in front of the TV cussing as the Yanks tied it up and went nuts with the first home run in the bottom of the 8th....
Not sure how they're doing it (smoke and mirrors) but they sure are a fun team to watch right now and I sure hope they can hang on to claim one of the wild card spots and hell I guess the division title isn't out of the range of possibilities at this point....
Must be so exciting for you! I don't know how they're doing it either, other than saying they're a TEAM, not a bunch of individuals. They have been fun to watch. Everyone keeps waiting for the other shoe to drop, but here we are, it's September, and they're not going away.
I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.
Loving it. Would be great to see some new blood in the playoffs from AL East. Division has been dominated by Yankees and Red Sox for ages. Rays have been good for a few years, but it's been a while Baltimore was fighting for the first place this far in the season.
Plus, I really like them O's. Had a few nice wins involving them past few years. Had one three teamer ending on them last year and cashed my biggest parlay win on that one.
