Interesting matchup today Kershaw vs Lee

Both of these teams are struggling to score...last 8 games the Phils are averaging 3.3 runs/game going 4-4 winning their last 4, although partly because they are playing the even more anemic Dodgers and have won the last 2 games 3-2...Dodgers have lost 7 of their last 8 averaging 2.6 runs/game..only game they won was 2-1 over SD on Kershaw's last start...

Cliff Lee's struggles have been greatly discussed as the team is 4-11 in the games he has started....and his numbers in his last 3 are showing that he's feeling some of the pressure with an ERA of almost 5....Kershaw in his last 3 while 2-1 has an ERA of nearly 3.5 which is 0.6 runs higher than his season total.....

Current line at scoresandodds shows Dodgers -120 and Under 6.5 -120....

If you play to streaks you will like the Phils as they have won 4 in a row and the Dodgers have lost 4 in a row....but it sure seems like a sweep on the road vs. Kershaw is a tough task....Kershaw is 0-4 with a 4.95 ERA in his career vs. the Phils....

I guess after all of that I should post a play but I will probably pass....noon start on the west coast would generally lean me towards the under....

OK folks talk me into something here - LOL I see the Sportsdoc is on the Kershaws.....

I suppose to tell you I'm going to go small with the "hometown" boy wouldn't be a shock... The sad part is that I really don't like the play but you know me... I have this thing about kids I watch play from high school up to the majors - just can't beat against them no matter how much they struggle.

If there's a pitcher that LAD can beat to finally stop their long losing slide against it's Cliff Lee. Granted Lee doesn't get much run support to begin with, but Kershaw will bear down against Philadelphia who has won 4 straight as of late on the strength of more effective pitching. I am playing Dodger blue small to end the slide, however if Lee can somehow right the ship (5.20 ERA over his last 3 outings) the Phillies can feel a lot better about themselves only havign to worry about winning since that wildcard deficit is still at this point somewhat within reach.

I'm with you finance and am going to pass on the play. When I try to play the streaks I generally pick the "wrong" side. I'll just be watching to see what happens...
