Well I don't have any system or a crystal ball but I do have some thoughts on tonights game and For what it’s worth and I know several of you will totally disagree with the underlined parts of this but that's why I said it LOL …
Mississippi State has gotten far better under head coach Dan Mullen, but, technically, the best win last year came against a mediocre Florida team on the road. When there was a chance to make a statement last week at Auburn, for the second straight season the team came up just short. The Bulldogs have talent and they have as good a rushing attack as any in America, but if they want to be considered among the key programs in the toughest division in the toughest conference in America, this is the home game they have to win.
LSU already stuffed the best spread running game in America and I don’t think they are going to be fazed by the Mississippi State attack. Last year, LSU stopped the Bulldogs cold allowing just 152 yards on the ground in the 29-7 win - but LSU's run defense is even stronger this season holding Oregon’s ground game to just 95 yards. The Tiger defensive front has been dominant over the first two games – Northwestern State came up with -4 yards last week – granted a much lesser school that Mississippi State.
The problem I see is LSU still hasn’t shown it can complete a forward pass against a defense worth a crap. Oh I know Jarrett Lee completed 9-of-10 passes last week before injuring his ankle, and Zach Mettenberger was terrific completing 8-of-11 but that was against Northwestern State. Against Oregon, Lee only connected on 10-of-22. Knowing this I think the Mississippi State will force LSU/Lee to have to win the game thru the air.
My Final thought is In the long run I think LSU’s defense is too good and too physical. Mississippi State runs with more power than Oregon, but Oregon runs better and more effectively and we saw the outcome of that game. I think this will be a hard fought battle and a fun game to watch. SEC is know for their tough matchups and I don’t think this one is going to let anyone down. I just hope LSU comes out on top.
So very true! But I've also sat there and spent hours of research and trends and rattled my brain and finally came to the conclusion that man it must be a trap game! I then pushed hard on the dog and got LIT UP with a game that wasn't even close! Hahah
You just never know who's going to show up.
I took LSU, but I will not be surprised if Miss St comes out on top.
This one worked out the way I thought it would with LSU winning by 10 or better, in this case by 13,,,,if I recall correctly (haven't looked back at the stats) it seems that with CFB weekday games you can get away with these easy and public lines. Just don't try it on a Saturday!!! LOL
Besides......Saturday offers up plenty of games to wager on besides anything that could be a "trap" game. Just my .02
