Okay, those with kids... BULLYING.

Maybe I'm old school, but has this just become out of control in the media? Or is this problem just a lot worse than when I was a kid?

Kids killing themselves? Really? I don't understand it. I was a big kid, but got bullied nonetheless. Haven't we all? Part of growing up. As a parent, I'm trying to teach my son to not do it, but to also fight back if he's bullied. Life's not a bowl of cherries all the time. Kids today think everything should be perfect at all times I guess.

I don't know, I just don't see how kids can actually off themselves over this. Not pretending to know each kids situation, but geez, taking your own life? Maddening to read about.

Or, back to the cynical side of me, is this just a further product of the pussification of American boys, or kids? I really think that's happening.

I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.

I don't know that anything's too different other than the deluge of media attention to everything....probably happened before but just wasn't reported as such or was just reported locally.....

It certainly isn't funny but I cracked up at the "pussification" comment...I have 2 daughters with the oldest going into middle school next year and so far haven't had to deal with anything like that....knock on wood but I know middle school sucks and can be rampant with bullies of all kinds...

I just feel like maybe everyone coddles their kids a bit too much, and if something doesn't go their way, it's a major ordeal with their enclosed, perceived versions of their lives. Man, get over it, move on. Don't want to sound like I'm belittling any kid that has gone as far as to kill themselves, but c'mon.

I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.

its out of control. i was falsely accused of "bullying" when i was in 9th grade...it was a mess. the kid was way bigger than me, but had a learning disability. he made 12 false reports of me hitting or pushing him to the ground. i was even suspended . the 13th report was that i pulled a gun on him w/a silencer. it so happened to be that i was at a Royals spring training game that day and no where near my school...BUSTED!!! his father had filed charges prior to that gun incident....and still followed through w/it after his son was caught in an obvious lie and brought me to court.

Finance & Cover...........I agree 100%. Funny it should come up here as when I was getting my haircut last Friday that was the topic of discussion. Pretty much everyone agreed.............everyone gets a trophy. Gonna be a rude awakening someday when real life sets in and there aren't enough trophies to go around. Gets me sick, too, but (mostly moms) don't want to listen. Just helps turn out pussies.

* Yes, I got bullied. When I was in grade school. Got slapped around by the upper classmen at practice while coach turned his head. The next year when they were gone, I was the captain of the team. And, no, I never returned the bullying.

Never, ever criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes........for at that point they will be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes !
