Jrue Holiday scored 20 points and Elton Brand added 13 as the Philadelphia 76ers evened their Eastern Conference Semifinals series at 3 games apiece with an 82-75 win over the Boston Celtics at the Wells Fargo Center. Holiday shot 7/15 (47%) overall and drained all 6 of his free throw attempts along with dishing out 6 assists. Brand made 5/9 (56%) from the floor and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds. Andre Igoudala and Evan Turner each contributed 12 for the 76ers, who shot 46% overall despite converting just 1/9 (11%) from 3 point range and only 17/28 (61%) from the charity stripe. Philadelphia committed just 12 turnovers and dished out 22 team assists, 6 for Lou Williams who scored 11 points off the bench. Paul Pierce led Boston with 24 points while Kevin Garnett added 20. Pierce made 5/11 (46%) from the field and converted all 13 of his free throw attempts while also pulling down 10 rebounds. Garnett shot only 9/20 (45%) but collected a team high 11 boards. While Pierce and Garnett accounted for nearly 59% of the Celtics' output, the rest of the team shot a horrific 12/47 (26%) from the field. Rajon Rondo was held to just 8 points on 4/14 (28%) overall and collected 9 rebounds while dishing out only 6 assists. Brandon Bass, the game 5 hero on Monday night thanks to 27 points was held to 8 on just 2/12 (17%). Boston shot only 33% overall and conencted on just 3/14 (21%) from beyond the arc. They did drain 20/23 (87%) from the foul line and outrebounded Philly 48-37, but committed more turnovers (17) than recorded assists (14). Philadelphia led 60-56 after three quarters in a grind it out defensive struggle that was close throughout. Philly's defense didn't allow Boston to score more than 20 points in any frame, and the leadership of Holday and Igoudald brought a sellout crowd to it's feet as the final seconds ticked away. Perhaps the appearance of former Sixer great Allen Iverson, who surprised the crowd in a Lou Williams jersey ignited the drive and determination that will send this series to a deciding 7th game on Saturday at TD Garden.
