Question about lawn mowers

My gas powered lawn mower needs replaced. I have a very small yard (takes longer to run the weed eater than it does to cut the grass) and I am thinking about just getting an electric mower. Anybody know anything about them. Are they good? Are they worth it? I have read mostly good things and a few bad. Just wondering if anybody has one and likes it.

Thanks.

Sorry man can't help you - used gas powered all of my life and can't recall anyone I know ever having an electric - will be interested to see if anyone has some experience with one of those....I did try a battery charged weed-eater once and the battery was heavy and didn't take long before it wouldn't hold the charge long enough to finish one session....

Same here, tried electric weed whacker, it sucked. Switched to gas.
I must be gettin' old... I still think baseball is cool.

Wish I could help as well Mark but I don't mow the yard...I am either sitting on the porch watching, working in the flower beds or carrying the beer and water jugs to the guys while they mow. But they use a gas mower & Blower as well.

Sorry Mark.
I only use a Mexican.
He is usually powered by money. I just pay him every month and he comes out and does a great job.

K..........somewhat of a good advisor here. Been in the business for awhile, but that is her in heavy grass laden Florida. In general: the electric will have much less power and you have to put up with the bothersome cord and keeping battery charged. While I don't know the size/thickness of the yard or your cutting habits, I would really lean towards a nice gas powered unit. Even if it is an extra $40-50 I would do it. Treat it right and it will be with you forever.
Never, ever criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes........for at that point they will be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes !

Thanks guys, I am still mulling it over. The one I was looking at has a cord, so I don't have to worry about keeping the battery charged. My yard is small and as long as I don't let it get too long I think electric will work fine. Probably go out no later than Thursday and buy it, so I am still looking for more information. Thanks again.
