Whatever happened to investigative journalism where they strived to get all the facts before publishing a story. I am sad for the life that was lost and this Zimmerman guy had no business being out on watch by himself. Thank god this guy was not white because we would have race riots all over again. This is a sad and sick abuse of journalism imho.
Its just a crazy story and the way the media ran with it no matter what its not going to get a fair shake either way.
Certainly no more innocent until proven guilty - no matter whether there are ever charges pressed against this guy he will be guilty in the eyes of most people in the country - no matter that he had a bloody nose and another wound on the back of his head....now he was absolutely a dumbass for being out there alone with a gun and he didn't listen to the dispatchers when they told him to stop following the kid and for all I know he may have just shot him in cold blood for the hell of it - but that's the point - I don't know....why can't we let it play out and decide when all of the facts are out?
On a side note to the out of control media one of the funniest things I saw yesterday was related to the Supreme Court deliberations on health care reform...they are allowing no cameras, no cell phones, etc...as they freaking should be allowed to and the Associated Press decided to put a couple of reporters in there so one can run out in the middle and tweet about what's going on in there....nobody can even wait for an hour to find out...absolutely insane - turns out they were just getting exciting testimony on some of the income tax ramifications...bet everyone was super excited about that tweet..HOLY CRAP what have we become????
Seeing now that this travon was no saint( anyone see his twitter pic with middle finger raised wanting someone to get shot?..........or the finding of 10 pieces of women's jewelry and a big flathead screwdriver found in his backpack by school authorities when looking for his graffitti tool that he used to deface the school with "WTF") If this ever comes to trial, I wonder how much of each one's past will be admitted as evidence. Will one's past be brought up but not the other?? Hope this isn't another mockery of the justice system, ala OJ / Ito.
