How the heck did Iona wind up getting an at-large play in game out of the MAAC? They could have very well took Seton Hall's spot. I would invite Drexel too if I knew Iona was able to get in.

West Virginia in but Seton Hall out? Perhaps neither of these teams deserved to be in based on their last 5 or 6 games. Missouri would have gotten consideration for a #1 seed had Ohio St won this afternoon. Otherwise the committee put some great first round matches out there.

I guess I didn't understand is why the announcers seemed so upset that missouri was the #8 or supposed last 2nd seed choosen. What difference does it make if you the 1st #2 seed or the 4th- your still a #2 seed? What am I missing? In all the years I've watch the tourney I never knew that mattered. (Other than the honor of being the overall #1 seed I suppose)

It makes a difference to those teams who are zoned to the bracker or region they prefer. Missouri should have been the overall #5 seed and might have gotten a better draw to their bracket. At 30-4 they might have gone to the South region where the competition is a little more balanced, but they are playing some of their best basketball nonetheless over the last few weeks and I considered them as the 4th #1 seed over the last week especially since they rolled in the Big 12 tourney though Kansas did win their regular season.
