TUESDAY FIRST 5 INNINGS PLAY 4/1/14...LET'S HAVE ANOTHER GREAT SEASON!

Coming off a record 62% last season our best by far to date, it's the First 5 innings plays by yours truly. As you know this is not necessarily a daily play, but if I find those matchups that warrant a play, you'll be the first to benefit! Every couple of days I will release a first 5 innings play, and perhaps a couple if more than one games warrant. Over the last 4 years I've hit an average of better than 58% of these and last season got off to an 80% start out of the gate during the first month. Yes I did cool off some after the ASB but I am primed and ready to have yet another positive run of it that will fill your bankroll! Let's get it started!

Colorado/Miami over 3.5 -110:
Miami looks to win back to back regular season outings for the first time since 2009 as they face the Colorado Rockies in the second of this 4 game series from Marlins Park. Nathan Eovaldi takes the hill for the fish, who finished 2013 4-6 with a 3.39 ERA missing the first half with shoulder inflammation. While enduring a promising spring, Eovaldi will have to contend with a Colorado lineup that isn't nearly as successful as their trademark home venue Coors Field. Even in the post humidor days, the advantage for the Rocks is clearly obvious in the high altitude in Denver. Carlos Gonzalez (.302 26 70) was hampered by injuries in 2013 but started off this season on a positive note scoring the only run last night in going 2 for 4. Michael Cuddyer (.331 20 84) is still battling shoulder issues after getting hit by a pitch last week in spring training. Eovaldi will have his hands full with the defending NL batting champ who also had 2 hits in the season opener. Justin Morneau (.259 17 77) also battled through injuries and inefficiency while looking for his first HR as a Rockie. And let's not of course forget Troy Tulowitzki (.312 25 82) who will look to stay healthy after suffering a fractured rib in 2013 that forced him to miss significant time.

Miami counters with Brett Anderson (1-4 6.04) who has looked fairly impressive this spring despite enduring a rough campaign in 2013. He suffered from an apparent ankle injury which turned out to be a stress fracture with Oakland last season. Miami's lineup may be young after enduring a nightmarish season offensively, however they do show some signs of promise. Marcell Ozuna (.275 3 32) went 3 for 4 last night and if healthy could put up some productive numbers given the opportunity. Giancarlo Stanton (.249 24 62) got off to a great start last season but knows he has to remain consistent in 2014 to avoid similar results in the NL East basement. Casey McGheee (.217 9 41) finds himself getting another chance in the NL at the hot corner after a brief second half stint with the Yankees after being acquired from Milwaukee after the first half. the marlins also got word that Rafael Furcal is set to return April 14th from the DL dealing with hamstring issues and missing all of 2013 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

The Rockies just looked out of sync in game one and simply couldn’t get anything going offensively. Sure, some of those struggles were due to Fernandez being his usual self, but Colorado has a solid lineup that should be able to produce something even against great pitching. Meanwhile, the Marlins looked confident at the plate and were getting the job done offensively and defensively. The game should be a lot more balanced and challenged if both offenses can get on track early. The price is just about right and hopefully will be the outcome. Best of luck everyone however you play!
