Its absolutely huge across the board for many. How each person works and practices their methods I am not sure but I know a bunch of players that play as much live wagering as they do everything else.

Curious everyone's thoughts.

live betting is more fun and profitable. you get to watch the game on the tv or at the arena and figure out for yourself who the better team is that day and then bet. i have used both betdsi and betonline for live betting and they are pretty good bookies so far.

If you miss the start of a game, or simply have a wager on any sport going on, most people feel so confident about the outcome the way things are going down which makes it a good way to press their bets. Or, you might use it as a tool to hedge your original play in case things are heading in the opposite direction. Most especially use live betting while as spidsparks said if they are at the game or watching it on TV for more action. Or simply if a side or total pops up during a time out that you think could work to your advantage.

I don't use it as often as I should and that's saying a lot since I love the action. However once March Madness and the postseason rolls around it becomes more of a focus for me. During the week and on Saturdays there are games where I like to pick my spots. However it is difficult to post action in the forum on it because a lot of the lines you would have to show at that point you played it for it to come in. That's one of the reasons why I utilize the halftime bets more often. Still, it is useful since the lines are constantly fluctuating during a time out and it gives you more options to make things more profitable.

Not tried too much of it either

Never, ever criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes........for at that point they will be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes !

Haven't tried it myself but from observation I tend to agree that live betting can give you an advantage vs. pre-game betting when it comes to one huge factor - the energy of a team. I would imagine that success varies from sport to sport (i.e. nascar may see little variation in success between live betting & pre-race betting - yet foots or bases may see an increased success rate due to being able to see how hot/cold bats are or how much momentum a foots team has).

To play the advocate I'll say that live betting can be a trap for over-thinkers, especially in the situation when things take a wrong turn. As a very exaggerated example I wouldn't have wanted to place a bet on the Colts over the Chiefs in the first half and then, at halftime, pick the Chiefs to try gaining back some of my money.

I have only dabbled a bit with it during the NFL season and had some decent results. But i haven't done it enough to have any kind of real sample to decide if im good or bad at it.

I do quite a fair share of live betting on NBA. I find that there is spectacular value when a pre-game favourite is trailing at any point in the game. Their spread or money-line price will drop drastically giving you a great price to purchase them. Definitely no need to over-think it. Although upsets do happen, the favourites usually come out on top even when trailing.

There was a game on Feb 7: Portland @ Indiana Pacers. Pacers were -6 spread pre-game (-250ish on the Moneyline)
Portland had a 7 - 9 point lead with about 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The live line on Indy Moneyline at that point was +605. Pacers got it tied up, sent it to overtime, and won the game.

This is an example of how huge the value can be if you are willing to follow the pre-game favourite play when they are losing during the game.

Also: You can sometimes get GIGANTIC point spreads on losing teams.. Usually +25.5, 28.5, 30.5, etc.. Pretty huge in NBA. When teams get blown out, the spreads are still usually large enough to cover.

On Feb 9th, The Clippers (-16 pregame) absolutely dismantled the lowly 76ers. They won 123-78. However, the Live Betting spread for the 76ers was at one point +55.5! Biggest spread I've ever seen for an NBA game.

Good luck Live Betting y'all. Take advantage of the great value!
