TRACKER RESULTS FOR THURSDAY 12/5/13

Carmelo Anthony scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Iman Shumpert added 17 as the NY Knicks ended a 9 game losing streak with a 113-83 bashing of the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. Anthony also shot 8/12 (67%) from the field and dished out a team high 6 assists. All 5 of Shumpert's field goals were from beyond the arc Andrea Bargnani contributed 16 points on 7/13 (54%) while Raymond Felton finished with 13 and Tim Hardaway Jr finished with 12 off the bench. The Knicks, who improved to 4-13 on the season shot 57% from the floor including 16/27 (59%) from 3 point range. They were outrebounded 35-30 but dished out 24 team assists and committed only 12 turnovers. Brook Lopez led the Nets (5-14) with 24 points and pulled down 9 rebounds on 9/18 (50%) from the field. Joe Johnson added 13 but shot just 4/15 (27%) overall as no other Nets players scored in double figures. Brooklyn made just 40% of their shots overall including a dismal 4/16 (25%) from 3 point range while recording just 11 assists and committing 17 turnovers. The game was nationally televised, as all four matchups are this season, but neither team had been giving fans much reason to watch. Nets coach Jason Kidd said Tuesday that both teams "stink," and Anthony not only agreed but added that the Knicks were the "laughingstock" of the league. Darren Collison, Jamal Crawford and Chris Paul each scored 15 points as the LA Clippers mauled the Memphis Grizzlies 101-81 at the Fed Ex Forum. Paul shot 6/11 (55%) from the floor and dished out 8 assists while Crawford and Collison combined to shoot 12/23 (52%) off the bench. Blake Griffin added 14 points and 9 rebounds despite making just 5/15 (33%) from the field. DeAndre Jordan contributed 10 points and a team high 14 rebounds for the Clippers who shot 48% including 11/20 (55%) from 3 point range. LA (13-7) outrebounded Memphis (9-9) 40-38 and distributed 22 assists despite committing 15 turnovers. Kosta Koufos led The Grizzlies with 17 points and 9 rebounds while Mike Conley added 16. Quincy Pondexter contributed 15 off the bench but shot just 4/12 (33%) from the floor. Zach Randolph scored 12 points on 4/13 (31%) and committed 7 of his team's 16 turnovers. Memphis converted just 38% from the field overall including just 3/13 (23%) from beyond the arc. The Clippers trailed 42-40 at the break before outscoring Memphis 61-39 in the second half while shooting 56 percent. Los Angeles' reserves ended the night outscoring their Memphis counterparts 50-31.

Carlos Boozer scored 27 points and Luol Deng added 20 as the Chicago Bulls massacred the Miami Heat 107-87 at the United Center. Boozer shot 10/17 (59%) from the floor and grabbed 9 rebounds. Taj Gibson contributed 19 off the bench and Deng shot 5/12 (42%) while dishing out 5 assists.. Joakim Noah contributed 17 points on 6/9 (67%) from the floor and hauled down a team high 15 rebounds. The Bulls (8-9) shot 50% from the field including 10/19 (53%) from 3 point range and converted 23/32 (72%) from the charity stripe. Chicago held a decisive 49-27 edge over Miami in rebounding and recorded 24 team assists, 7 by Kirk Hinrich who also scored 13 points. Miami (14-5) was led by Lebron James who scored 21 points on just 7/17 (41%) overall. Michael Beasley added 15 off the bench on 7/13 (54%) from the floor and Norris Cole contributed 12. The Heat, who were without Dwayne Wade due to knee issues and flu-like symptoms, shot only 42% overall including a dismal 6/22 (27%) from 3 point range. Chicago took control early on and hung on down the stretch after watching a 25-point lead in the third quarter dwindle to 12 late in the game. Miami cut it to 93-81 on Norris Cole's runner with 5:38 remaining. But Gibson answered with a jumper and blocked a layup by Udonis Haslem. Deng made a 3 with just under four minutes left to make it 98-81, and Chicago hung on from there.
