TRACKER RESULTS FOR NFL WEEK 7

The forum ended another fabulous week hitting for about 63% overall which was aided by 68% alone in sides plays. What seemed like a tough week with half a dozen lines a field goal or less, most cappers picked their spots and played conservatively while others used an more extensive approach to earn plentiful greenbacks. The story of the week was doof who set a BTB record going 14-1 for 93%, the most successful tracker record for a capper in any given week who did not go unbeaten. In fact, if it weren't for Minnesota backdooring Green Bay late he would have ran the table and broken JB's current record of 10-0 back in July which he turned in baseball. Doof started off his bookie carnage by hitting with Chicago overseas who defeated Tampa Bay 24-18 at Wembley Stadium in London. Matt Forte opened the scoring with a 32 yard TD run midway through the first quarter and carried 25 times for 145 yards (5.8) overall making several nifty moves that left Tampa's front 5 off balance. Marion Barber (6-39 6.5) added a 12 yard TD run in the third quarter that would turn out to be the game winner. Jay Cutler (17/32 226 1 TD 2 INT) was not at his best but hooked up with Roy Williams (4-59) on a 25 yard TD pass that gave da Bears a 14-2 early second quarter lead. The Chicago defense forced 5 turnovers despite sacking Josh Freeman (29/51 264 2 TD 4 INT) just twice. They also held Tampa Bay to just 30 yards rushing and outlasted a late comeback in front of a sold out crowd with tea and crumpets. The Bears improved to 4-3 while the Bucs fell to 4-3. Doof also scored huge with New Orleans who pulverized Indianapolis 62-7 on Sunday night at the Superdome licking their chops after a hard fought loss on the road to Tampa last week. Drew Brees (31/35 325 5 TD) was as near perfect as he's ever been alll season connecting for 4 of his socring passes to Marques Colston (7-98 2 TD) and Jimmy Graham (6-54 2 TD). Brees also hooked up with Darren Sproles (6-19 1 TD) on a 16 yard scoring strike, Leigh Torrence capped off the scoring mercifully with a 42 yard INT return and John Kasay made both of his field goal attempts. The Saints racked up 561 yards of total offense and dominated both halves on both sides of the ball. It was a long night for Curtis Painter (9/17 67 1 INT) who eventually gave way to Dan Orlovsky (3/5 35) in a relentless blowout. The only bright spot for the Colts was when Delonte Carter (10-89 8.9 1 TD) scored on a 2 yard TD run to avert the goose egg, but that came when the Saints built a 31-0 first half lead. The Saints improved to 5-2 back atop the NFC South while winless Indy, who committed 4 turnovers, fell to 0-7. Doof finished off his Sunday with Dallas, who slaughtered St. Louis 34-7 at Cowboys Stadium. Rookie Demarco Murray broke Emmit Smith's single game rushing record with 253 yards on 25 carries (10.1) including a 91 yard burst to the left sidelines that opened the scoring early in the first quarter. That took a lot of pressure off of Tony Romo (14/24 166 2 TD), who found Jason Witten (5-35 1 TD) and Dez Bryant (5-90 1 TD) on scoring passes of 1 and 20 yards respectively. Dan Bailey converted both of his field goal attempts including a career long 51 yarder, and the Dallas defense took care of the rest. Steven Jackson (18-70 3.9 1 TD) scored the only Rams TD on a 6 yard run midway through the second quarter. AJ Feeley (20/33 196 1 INT) started for an injured Sam Bradford and despite efficient, could not lead winless St. Louis into the end zone. Dallas evened their record at 3-3 while St. Louis fell to 0-6. Next we had SPOOKY who continues to take no prisoners in the NFL going 6-1 for 86% featuring the NY Jets who came from behind to slow down San Diego 27-21 at Met Life Stadium. Mark Sanchez (18/33 173 3 TD 1 INT) shook off a sluggish first half to connect with Plaxico Burress (4-25 3 TD) on 3 3 yard scoring passes, the game winner coming with 8:40 remaining to avert a 11 point halftime deficit. Shonn Greene (20-112 5.6) set up field position for Sanchez with a couple of long runs and Nick Folk sealed the deal with 2 field goals in as many attempts. San Diego got on the board early when Sanchez completed a pass to Dustin Keller (4-53), who lost the football on his fingertips turning the corner after the catch. Donald Butler took it out of his hands and scampered 37 yards to paydirt for a 7-0 lead just 2:00 in. Philip Rivers (16/32 179 1 TD 2 INT) was sharp early hooking up with Antonio Gates (5-54 1 TD) on a 2 yard scoring pass and a one yard TD run from Mike Tolbert (11-58 5.3 1 TD) had the Chargers in control heading into the break. However, with the bolts leading 21-17 early in the 4th quarter Darrelle Revis stopped a key San Diego drive with a 55 yard INT return off Vincent Jackson's fingertips that swung the momentum in gang green's favor and set up the game winning score. The Chargers fell to 4-2 while the Jets improved to 4-3. Spooky also scored nicely courtesy of a backdoor cover by Minnesota, who despite a valiant effort fell to Green Bay 33-27 in Christian Ponder's debut. it was just another day at the office for Aaron Rodgers (24/30 335 3 TD) who after a slow start got going quickly. Rodgers got the cheeseheads on the board late in the first quarter hooking up with John Kuhn on a 2 yard scoring pass, his only reception of the game tying the score at 7. Trailing 17-13 at halftime, Rodgers then put the Packers on top for good finding Greg Jennings (7-147 1 TD) along the sidelines for a 79 yard TD pass just :51 seconds into the second half. Jerimichael Finley (2-13 1 TD) then caught a 2 yard TD pass and Mason Crosby converted 2 of his 4 field goals including a career long 58 yarder highlighting a 20 point third quarter. Ponder (13/32 219 2 TD 2 INT) looked calm in his first start but was also victimized by numerous dropped passes that stalled some second half Vikings drives. Ponder hit Visanthe Shiancoe (4-45 1 TD) from 2 yards out on a 3 play 73 yard drive just a minute into the game highlighted by a 70 yard pass on the first play of the game to Michael Jenkins (3-111 1 TD) whom he also found later found on a 24 yard scoring pass. Adrian Peterson (24-175 (7.3 1 TD) scored on a 1 yard TD run to give Minnesota their final lead 14-7 early in the second quarter, but despite a balanced effort just wasn't enough. The defending Super Bowl champs are now the league;s lone unbeaten at 7-0, while Minnesota fell to 1-6. Hitmen44 played 4 sides and went 3-1 thanks to Houston terrorizing Tennessee 41-7 at LP Field. Matt Schaub (18/23 296 2 TD) wasted no time getting the Texans going finding Joel Dreessen (2-31 1 TD) on a 10 yard TD pass after a Neil Rackers field goal for an early 10-0 lead. Arian Foster (5-119 1 TD) then caught a rare 78 yard TD pass and ran for 2 others (25-115 4.6 2 TD) setting the tone for yet another Sunday blowout. Even backup Ben Tate (15-104 6.9) got into the act with two first down conversion runs of 24 yards capping a 518 yards of offense afternoon by Houston. Tennessee couldn't find the endzone until Matt Hasselbeck (14/30 104 1 TD 2 INT) hooked up with Jared Cook late in the third quarter on a 5 yard scoring pass. The Titans managed just 53 yards on the ground and Brice McCain sealed the win with a 38 yard pick INT return to the house. Houston improved to 4-3 while Tennessee fell to 3-3. Mcrowe38315 matched hitmen's 3-1 mark featuring Atlanta who handed Detroit their second straight loss 23-16 at Ford Field. Matt Ryan (20/34 218 1 TD 2 INT) gave the Falcons the lead for good breaking a 3-3 tie with a one yard plunge into the endzone. Ryan later hooked up with Roddy White (5-52 1 TD) on an 18 yard scoring strike with just :25 left in the first half for a 17-6 lead. Michael Turner ran for 122 yards on 27 carries (5.8) and the Atlanta defense sacked an ineffective and later injured Matthew Stafford (15/32 183 1 TD) 4 times. Stafford however threw a 57 yard laser to Calvin Johnson (5-115 1 TD) that got Detroit to within 4 points late in the third, but a 2:00 comeback drive was stalled on downs at the Atlanta 41. Jason Hanson and Matt Bryant each converted all 3 of their field goal attempts. The Falcons improved to 4-3 while the Lions fell to 5-2. Jetski700 also scored on a 75% afternoon on 8 plays going 6-2 featuring Denver who stormed back from a 15 point 4th quarter deficit to edge Miami 18-15 in overtime. Tim Tebow (13/27 161 2 TD) resurrected a dormant offense by finding Demaryius Thomas (3-27 1 TD) on a 5 yard scoring toss that got the Broncos on the board with 2:44 remaining. Virgil Green then recovered a Matt Prater onside kick at the Denver 45 yard line giving Tebow a second opportunity close to the 2:00 warning. Trailing 15-7, Tebow then found Daniel Fells on a 2 yard scoring toss and converted a 2 yard 2 point conversion run to tie the game at 15 with just :17 remaining in regulation. Miami won the coin toss and elected to receive. However, DJ Williams sacked Matt Moore, one of 5 for Denver on the day and recovered a fumble at the Miami 45 yard line. That set the stage for Prater who despite earlier missing from 49 and 43 yards out drilled a 52 yard field goal capping one of the more memorable Broncos comebacks in recent history. Tebow also kept the ball 8 times for 65 yards (8.1) and Willis McGahee gained 76 more yards on 18 touches (4.2). Moore finished the game 22/33 for 197 yards and a TD. Dan Carpenter connected on 2 first half field goals for a 6-0 halftime lead, but on Moore's 4th quarter 16 yard TD pass to Anthony Fasano (2-22 1 TD), Sparano elected to go for 2 points. Moore's pass to Marshall was incomplete and turned out to be the difference in the game for the still winless Dolphins who fell to 0-6 while the Broncos improved to 2-4. Jetski also hit nicely with Pittsburgh who ambushed Arizona 32-20 at Phoenix Stadium. Ben Roethlisberger (26/39 361 3 TD) had one of his better efforts of the season by starting things off with a 12 yard TD pass to Heath Miller (4-59 1 TD just 5:00 inot the first quarter. Big Ben then found Mike Wallace (3-118 1 TD) on a corner route down the sidelines that turned into a 95 yard TD completion for a 14-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Roethlisberger also hit Emmanuel Sanders (5-46 1 TD) on a 4 yard strike that put the game away midway through the fourth. Rashard Mendenhall was held to just 32 yards on 13 carries (2.5), but Shaun Suisham connected on all 3 of his field goal attempts as Pittsburgh won their third straight. Levin Kolb (18/34 272 2 TD 1 INT) helped the Cardinlas stay close in the third quarter connecting on a 73 yard scoring pass to Larod Stephens Howling (2-76 1 TD) cutting the deficit to 17-14, but Arizona managed only 72 rushing yards while giving up a safety and committing a couple of costly second half turnovers. Pittsburgh improved to 5-2 while Arizona fell to 1-5. JB was due for a breakout week 7 and didn't disappoint with an 11-4 73% mark featuring Kansas City who blanked a Jason Campbell less Oakland squad 28-0 at the Alameda Coliseum. Kendrick Lewis picked off a Kyle Boller pass and returned it 59 yards to paydirt to open the scoring just 2:30 in. Leron McClain and Javier Arenas each scored TD runs on their only carries, and Brandon Flowers picked off Carson Palmer and returned it 58 yards to the house with the game already decided in the early part of the 4th quarter. Matt Ryan (15/30 161 2 INT) did not have one of his better games, but nobody suffered worse than the Raiders offense or lack thereof. Boller (7/14 61 3 INT) was pulled in favor of Palmer (8/21 116 3 INT) in the second half, but it didn't matter as the silver and black committed 7 turnovers. Michael Bush (17-99 5.8) was about the only bright spot as Oakland was without Sebastian janikowski and Darren McFadden for a huge chunk of the game due to injuries. The Chiefs improved to 3-3 while Oakland fell to 4-3. JB also hit with Jacksonville on Monday night who in a defensive struggle defeated Baltimore 12-7 at EverBank Field. Maurice Jones Drew ran for 105 yards on 30 carries (3.5) and Blaine Gabbert was just 9/20 for 93 yards. Josch Scoobe was the entire Jaguars offense nailing all 4 of his field goal attempts including one from 54 yards. the Jags defense took care of the rest sacking Joe Flacco (21/38 137 1 TD 1 INT) 4 times. The Ravens were kept off the board until just before the second 2:00 warning when Flacco found Anquan Boldin (4-40 1 TD) on a 5 yard TD pass. Baltimore was held to just 34 yard rushing and managed just 171 total yards falling to 5-2 overall while Jacksonville improved to 2-5. Finally, dexter scored an impressive 5-2 for 71% featuring Carolina who skinned Washington 33-20 at Bank Of America Stadium. Cam Newton completed 18/23 for 256 yards and a TD while running for 59 more on 10 carries (5.9) and another score. After 3 Olindo Mare field goals that sent the Panthers into the break up 9-6, Newton scampered 16 yards into the end zone and then found Brandon Lefell (2-39 1 TD) on a 2 yard scoring pass to put the game out of reach. Jonathan Stewart (14-68 4.9 1 TD) added a 2 yard scoring run and Mare kicked a 4th field goal as Carolina forced 4 turnovers and sacked John Beck (22/37 279 1 TD 1 INT) 4 times. Tim Hightower (17-88 5.2) was kept out of the end zone and the Redskins were outscored 24-14 in the second half. Carolina improved to 2-5 ending a 3 game losing streak while Washington fell to 3-3. Thanks JTG for all your hard work! That Green Bay pick was actually my favorite play this weekend, luckily I left them out of one of my 5-team parlays that I set up on Sunday.
