South Carolina Gamecocks at Missouri Tigers (-2.5)
ATS pick: Missouri

It will be a much tougher test than last week's domination of a bad Florida team, but the Tigers probably have enough left in the tank to get past a Gamecocks squad that hasn't looked like a contender this year. The Tigers have what could be the best defensive line in the SEC, and that can take a team a long way opposite such an explosive offense.

Score: Missouri 31, South Carolina 24

Clemson Tigers at Maryland Terrapins (+14.5, 60)

Clemson is coming off a humiliating loss against Florida State, but Maryland knows exactly what that feels like. The 10th-ranked Tigers aim to bounce back from their lopsided top-five showdown on Saturday when they visit the Terrapins in ACC action. All eyes will be on Tajh Boyd and Clemson, which was demolished by the Seminoles, 51-14, last weekend in a game that could have potentially propelled the Tigers to the forefront of the national title picture.

The Terps lost two receivers, Stefon Diggs and Deon Long, to broken legs against Wake Forest. That was the last thing Maryland needed, as its passing game - and its offense in general - is struggling, managing a total of 37 points over the last three games.

LINE: The Tigers opened -13 and are now -14.5. The total opened at 60.
WEATHER: Temperatures will be in the high-50s with wind blowing across the field at 12 mph.
TRENDS:

* Under is 6-1 in the last seven meetings.
* Tigers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games.
* Terrapins are 3-14 ATS in their last 17 games following a S.U. loss.

Best Offenses in football

1. Baylor Bears: Offense, adding 32.0 points per game to scoring margin

Even adjusting for the mediocre competition they've faced, the Bears' offense is dominant. They've scored less than 60 points only one time this season. Bryce Petty ranks second in QBR, adjusted for defenses. The Bears gain more than 6 yards per carry, rank third in opponent-adjusted passing and second in opponent-adjusted rushing. What's amazing is that this offense was ranked No. 2 last year and changed its quarterback -- the most important position and one where inconsistency can hurt -- and it got better.

2. Florida State Seminoles: Offense (plus-29.7)

Speaking of changing quarterbacks, the Seminoles went from EJ Manuel, the quarterback taken highest in the NFL draft last spring, to Jameis Winston in the fall and took a huge leap in offensive efficiency. Last year, they ranked 18th in offensive efficiency, adding about 12 points per game. In 2013, they have been more than double that, accounting for the schedule. A big reason for their success has been the lack of turnovers, as they lead the nation with just four thus far. That seems highly unsustainable, but they're still a great offense if turnovers do increase to a more normal rate. What can happen, though, is an overreaction to turnovers, making an offense conservative. This was supposed to have been tested against Clemson. Could Miami (FL) test them?

3. Stanford Cardinal: Special teams (plus-5.9)

The Cardinal have the best kick returner in college football in Ty Montgomery, who already has two touchdowns on kickoff returns and is averaging 90 return yards per game. Overall, the team is adding about four points per game through kickoff returns, far and away the best we've seen this year and the best we have in our calculations over 10 years. This number is Devin Hester-ish considering the only time we've seen something this big in special teams was when Hester was the punt returner for Miami (FL) back in 2004. Frankly, it is hard to imagine that Stanford stays anywhere near this good the rest of the season, but it's been fun thus far.
