The Pac 12 is a conference that is constantly looking for respect and always seems to stay in the shadows of other big college football conferences across the country, most notably, the SEC. The matchup for week eight featuring the UCLA Bruins and the Stanford Cardinal was supposed to be that kind of game that will make the entire country take notice as two undefeated juggernauts faced off on a big stage, but Stanford must have missed the memo as they were upset against the Utah Utes.
UCLA Bruins at Stanford Cardinal Odds
The college football odds for this game will be interesting to watch after such a devastating loss for the Cardinal. They were ranked fifth in the college football rankings before that loss and would have been perhaps a very big favorite, but now they will have to get a closer look by the odds makers.
In the loss against Utah, Stanford looked bad, especially early. Stanford failed to contain Utah's spread offense (181 rushing yards) and struggled to repel the Utes' hard-charging defense, which limited the Cardinal to one offensive touchdown in the first three quarters. The Cardinal controls its own destiny in the race for the Rose Bowl -- run the table, and it wins the Pac-12 -- but its prospects for the national championship were dealt a severe blow. If they lose to UCLA it would almost assure the Cardinal a ticket out out of the championship game and it will jeopardize their Pac 12 title hopes.
