Reportedly Freeman and Schiano have not been on the same page as of recent weeks. Freeman also had lost his team captaincy, and though there was a thought that Schiano had somehow sabotaged the vote, that doesn't appear to be true. Schiano, though, did reveal that Freeman had been late to a team meeting.
Glennon, meanwhile, struggled in the preseason. But despite the idea that Schiano might be on the hot seat and would need the more-established Freeman to play (and play well) in order to save his so-far disappointing tenure in Tampa Bay, Schiano apparently has decided to see if Glennon is the team's quarterback of the future.
This is certainly going to be an interesting factor to watch the next few weeks in Tampa. QB's have always vied for playing time.. in recent times we've had the same in Seattle, S. Fran, NY Jets, etc... we now get to add Tampa. Some have really worked out well (just look at Seattle and S.Fran last year) other's.... I guess Like Tampa we'll all just watch and see.
And when someone breaks our wings, we simply continue to fly...
Usually on a broomstick but we're flexible like that
Should of cut bait with Freeman after last season i thought was pretty clear that team was never going to win consistently with him at QB. Glennon likely isn't the fix for TB but at least he is a fresh face at QB.
As events continue to unfold, Dan Orlovsky was announced the backup to rookie starter Mike Glennon. The catalyst behind Freeman’s latest potential demotion may have been an interview Freeman conducted with ESPN on Thursday, which“wasn’t authorized by the Bucs”.
