Money Line: +122 Pittsburgh
Francisco Liriano has 107 strikeouts in his 17 games this season. He has posted a 2.83 ERA and a 12-5 record so getting the Pirates with an underdog line makes them a very strong value play. Shelby Miller has been struggling in his last three starts. The Cardinals are 1-2 in those games and he has a 4.22 ERA. Miller is 0-2 in his career against the Tigers.
The Cardinals have not performed well against left handed starters this year. Their batting average drops to .249 and they are scoring 3.8 runs per game. I would be surprised to see St Louis reach those averages today against Liriano, especially since they have had trouble scoring runs recently. Over their past seven games the Cardinals have scored 3.6 runs per game.
