Well baseball continues and not sure where and what I should do since I have some really nice futures rolling with Brewers and Tigers.
That said I will go easy and enjoy the games.

MLB

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS

Gonna root the Tigers on but not playing that game

Spooky, Initially I really like USC tonite, but im having second thoughts on that play. I think the line is tempting therefore too good to be true, and usually when that happens, funny things happen.... i.e, "bad coaching calls" Anyways GL tonite

    UNDER 59 Pts

  • 10/14/2011 01:16 PM

Nice hit Mayday....Sometimes you overthink things. Was an away game for USC, they were still favored, have Notre Dame and Stanford on deck. Injuries and depth is an issue from probation so line was about right. I thought at least. Smart play with the under as well.

    Thanks for the feedback.

Another winner with the Cards last night on the express. Okay I have Junkman's disease and heading to surgeon this morning for some stupid dental surgery.
So out of the pocket but before I go Im thinking of you guys.

Posted some Fight On recommendation for tonight. Lets hope to keep up the winning tradition.

Thursday's Dirty Dozen: Doing some thinking out loud........

12) 22 new NFL stadiums have been built since the Rams/Raiders bolted southern California; with 32 teams in the league and Jets/Giants sharing a stadium, that means only nine teams are still playing in the same stadium they were 17 years ago.

11) Pauley Pavilion is being refurbished as we speak, so UCLA is playing home basketball games at the LA Sports Arena this winter, with some non-league games being played in Anaheim.

10) Baltimore Ravens’ center Matt Birk was fined $5,000 recently for not wearing his mike during a game; NFL centers are being miked during games this season, apparently for the benefit of NFL Films and you and I, the TV viewer. Birk is appealing the fine.

9) Since 2008, the Bengals are 1-10 against the spread as home favorites.

8) On the Texans’ last play Sunday, when Matt Schaub was picked off by Oakland’s Michael Huff in the end zone, the Raiders had only 10 guys on the field.

7) Phoenix was awarded the 2015 Super Bowl, which I guess is Super Bowl 49; the 50th Super Bowl is being more widely sought after, with Kansas City wanting it based on fact that Lamar Hunt coined the name “Super Bowl”. But its looking more and more like Super Bowl 50 might be in the same town Super Bowl I was, Los Angeles; chances are there will be an NFL franchise in LA by then.

6) Former Arkansas/USC QB Mitch Mustain, who played for the Hogs when they had a McFadden/Jones/Hillis backfield, recently signed with the Georgia Force of the Arena League. Mustain was cut by the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats in June.

5) Knicks’ only visit to Denver this season was scheduled for November 16, so looks like Carmelo Anthony is off the hook for getting booed unmercifully for two hours until at least next season. We’ll be lucky to see any NBA games before Christmas.

4) We complained last week that QB Stephen Garcia wasn’t playing well enough for South Carolina to merit all the chances he had been given by Steve Spurrier; well, the Head Ball Coach finally had enough and Garcia is history in Columbia.

Let’s be adults here, Garcia didn’t get canned for failing a drug test; if he were playing at a high level, if Gamecocks were national championship contenders, his urine never sees the inside of a cup, some squeaky-clean student manager’s does, and Garcia is still wearing #5 every Saturday. Garcia got streeted for being a pain-in-the-butt who wasn’t playing well. End of story.

3) We forget that major league ballplayers/managers are real people with real-life issues just like the rest of us, they just have more money. Terry Francona has a son and son-in-law in Afghanistan; his marriage fell apart this year and one of his knees required draining once a month, which probably means he’ll need a knee replacement soon. He has to be pretty relieved to be out of the Boston limelight, where he can recharge and plan his next steps. He’s good enough on TV to get a regular gig, if he wants to work but not manage.

2) Really is hard to believe that a Boston team that was 80-41 from games 13-134 missed the playoffs. As stories seep out about how their veteran players failed to respect their position and stay in shape/support their teammates and do other things incumbent on being part of a team, you realize the next manager will most likely be a tough guy type who will smash a TV in the clubhouse so nobody can watch it during games.

But that goes against the Moneyball way of thinking that the Red Sox embrace (even though they have a lot of money). The Moneyball manager is a middle manager who fills out the lineup card with some guidance from above; he is not the king of the clubhouse, the front office is. Asking a middle manager to be a dictator isn’t that great a fit, especially when you throw in the voracious Boston media. This will be interesting to follow. I don’t think a first-time manager can succeed there.

1) Question for all of us to ponder: If you owned the Cubs, would you give Theo Epstein $20M to run your franchise? Was he that good in Boston, or was he a right place/right time guy? My opinion is that this trend of young Ivy league-educated GMs being successful is more about the young part and less about the Ivy League part.

Epstein to Wrigley probably means Ryne Sandberg will be new manager of the Cubs, bad news for current Chicago skipper Mike Quade, who has only a year left on his contract and therefore is expendable. Wouldn't it be cool if Epstein had to take Carl Crawford, John Lackey and their stupidly high contracts to Chicago with him?

Friday's Hurting Thirteen: Things I'm looking for this weekend as I recover from this traumatic event at the oral surgeon

13) Will Florida Atlantic win their first game of the season on Saturday. They open their new stadium and this being Howie's last year as coach this is a truly momentous even for the school. Taking them from Division 2 to the FBS and Division 1, winning a couple bowl games and putting them on the map he wants this game like no other. Even though he has not had a good couple recruiting years he has done a ton for the school. And he is really a nice guy. So looking for the Owls to celebrate the stadium with a big win.

12) Can The Eagles snap out of their funk against a rested Washington team? Philly won here 59-28 LY, so they’ll have Redskins’ full attention.

11) Oklahoma State snapped a 12-game skid vs Texas LY, now they’re 7.5-point favorites in Austin; can the Longhorns bounce back from getting crushed by Oklahoma last week?

10) Kansas State-Texas Tech is a good under-the-radar game; Tech has killed them the last three years, but Bill Snyder is working his magic this year, upsetting Miami/Missouri in his last two games.

9) Who thought that 49ers-Lions would be the NFL’s feature game this week? Teams are combined 9-1, but Detroit is coming off first Monday night home game in a decade. Bucs got throttled last week coming off their first MNF game in a while, also against the 49ers. Roar is Restored

8) Big game in Conference USA Saturday, with SMU-Central Florida a great contrast in styles. UCF coach O’Leary is an old school/smashmouth kind of coach, while June Jones is the guru of Run ‘n Shoot. Not sure if TCU’s jumping to the Big X helps or hurts the Mustangs’ chances of joining that league, since they’ll probably wind up at 12 teams, so they still need to add two more.

7) South Carolina sophomore Connor Shaw gets his first road start since Carolina dismissed senior starting QB Stephen Garcia. Gamecocks visit Miss State. Carolina crushed lowly Kentucky last week, but Wildcats are worst team in league-- Bulldogs willl be a much stiffer test.

6) Times have changed quickly in the Big Dozen, where 3-3 Ohio State is a 4-point dog at 6-0 Illinois. Huh? 6-0 Illinois? This is a very big game for the Illini. Buckeyes are 3-3 with unbeaten Wisconsin up next.

5) Carolina Panthers are 1-4, but covered the spread in three of four losses; their only win came in the rain, but they’ll be dry in the Georgia Dome this week, playing an underachieving Falcon squad that is just 2-3.

4) Texas Rangers are definitely a better team than the Tigers right now, as Detroit's hitters are ravaged by injuries, but can Texas put Detroit away?

3) Brewers-Cardinals have split 22 games this year, heading into Game 5 in St Louis Friday night; Cardinals' starting pitcher failed to finish the fifth inning in the last three games. Hard to win that way.

2) Matt Moore gets his first Dolphin start on Monday night in Swamp, against a Jet squad coming off an 0-3 road trip, while the Fish are off a bye. If Miami can stay close early, the natives could turn on Jet offense.

1) Can Buffalo keep forcing turnovers and send the Giants into their bye week 3-3? Bills have had positive turnover ratio in all five 2011 games. I’m just asking here, but do you think every pro football announcer knows that Swamp Stadium isn’t actually in New York? Or that New Jersey isn’t part of New York? Why do they say they're in New York?

Quick question that may even require you faggots and homos to reply by posting.
Should I post my plays on a separate thread or keep them on the daily express thread with all the other crap I post.
Dont want to have them get lost to some of the new guys coming over. Obviously if they lose I would like them to get lost.

Just wondering. Good Luck and have a great weekend.
