2 UNIT = Pittsburgh Pirates @ Seattle Mariners - UNDER 7 RUNS (-110)
Listed Pitchers: Locke vs Saunders
(Note: I'm risking 2.00 units to win 1.82 units)
These two teams will meet for a mini two game set in Seattle. They played two in Pittsburgh earlier this year with Pittsburgh winning the first 4-1 and Seattle winning the second 2-1. Pittsburgh comes into this one sweeping away the Angels in Los Angeles and have won 5 of their last 6 games. The Mariners won two straight on the weekend but are just 3-5 over their last 8. Tonight's meeting will feature an all lefty match up with Jeff Locke starting for Pittsburgh and veteran southpaw Joe Saunders on the mound for Seattle. Locke is 6-1 on the year with a 2.01 ERA, .203 OBA and 1.13 WHIP over 15 starts. He has been one of the best starting pitchers in baseball in June going 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA, .157 OBA and 1.03 WHIP over his 4 starts. And on the road this year he is a solid 3-1 with a 1.64 ERA, .182 OBA and 1.07 WHIP. He has thrown up 5 shutouts in his last 7 starts. Saunders is 5-7 on the year with a 4.48 ERA, .279 OBA and 1.40 WHIP. Although those numbers are average at best he is much better at home where is 4-2 with a 2.53 ERA, .224 OBA and 1.08 WHIP. In 16 career starts at pitcher friendly Safeco Field he is 10-2 with a 2.31 ERA. These two teams rank 21st and 26th in runs scored this year , 25th and 27th in team batting average, and 23rd and 27th in team batting average vs lefties (both .230 or worse against lefties). The UNDER is 5-1-1 in the Pirates last 7 games overall, 11-4 in their last 15 interleague games, and 15-7-1 in their last 23 vs a team with a losing record. The UNDER is also 8-1 in Locke's last 9 starts overall and 4-1 in his last 5 road starts. The UNDER is 6-0 in the Mariners last 6 vs a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15, 7-3 in their last 10 home games, and 5-2 in Saunders' last 7 home starts. We have a lower total tonight but for a good reason with two teams that don't bring big bats and two solid southpaws on the mound. Take the UNDER 7.
