TEBOW to NEW ENGLAND :)

The New England Patriots will sign former New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow and expect him to be at the team’s mandatory minicamp tomorrow, reports ESPN.com.

Financial terms and the length of an impending contract were not disclosed. Tebow is reportedly on his way to the team facility in Foxborough as the Patriots and Tebow brokered a deal within the last 24 hours.

Tebow was released by the Jets in April after spending one only uneventful season with team.

Before that, he was with the Denver Broncos for two seasons and led the team to an AFC West division title and a playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The move reunites Tebow with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the Broncos head coach when they drafted Tebow in the first round in 2010.

Tebow will likely try to just make the roster as quarterback in New England as he will fight for playing time behind Tom Brady and his backup Ryan Mallett. The team cut three-year veteran Mike Kafka to make room for Tebow on the roster.

There had been speculation that Patriots head coach Bill Belichick didn’t care for Tebow, but he came out last week and refuted those claims.

Not a big fan of Tebow but glad he was signed, feel bad for the guy after the last couple seasons he has had.

He really did get hosed by the Jets last year...sure seems like if anyone would be able to figure out how to use him it would be the New England coaching staff...

Belicheat knows how to use anybody & everybody ............based on that, I think it's a good move. Welker gone, 2 TE's w/injury problems, they need offensive bodies & schemes.

Never, ever criticize someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes........for at that point they will be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes !

I cannot stand the Pats, the very happy for him to sign with somebody. He has got a raw deal so far in this league. He is the kind of kind that how can you not root for. I hope he does well.

Both Brady and Mallett are far superior to Tebow as far as being an NFL QB is concerned. However, I will look forward to seeing how they use him.

"I've had smarter people around me all my life, but I haven't run into one yet that can outwork me. And if they can't outwork you, then smarts aren't going to do them much good. That's just way it is. And if you believe that and live by it, you'd be surprised at how much fun you can have."

Well...have to say that I am proud to see that all-yall (Spanky)are not deeply hating on Tim (like a bunch of F-ugly girls, who can't help but to hate on the new hot chick on the block) like most do!

Not me! I followed Tim all through his years at Florida and I am so hoping the Pats are a good fit for him! If nothing else his old coach might be able to help groom him more for the NFL style or they might find another spot for him! If nothing else Tim's lifestyle and work ethics in my opinion would be valuable on any team!

Well said and enjoy your opinion, Bobalou! Through the good, bad and the ugly...that's a true fan.
Tim is in solid hands with Josh McD and the NE organization!

Some of it I think is on him because he's been unflexible about trying other positions, but it sure seems like there's some talent there if it can be used properly...I saw on Twitter that he's the only Heisman trophy winner to win a playoff game which is pretty funny.....if he's going to have a chance to succeed even in a limited role it would seem to me that New England would be his best chance, but again he needs to be flexible because it 'aint like he's replacing Brady any time soon....

short of a team revamping it's whole offensive structure around him, I don't know that he' getting another chance (although for some of these teams - Jacksonville, etc. - why the hell not give it a try?)

Love that Twitter stat and love his resolve more! Yet we will see how resolute he is over these two years. I mean how old will Tom be in two years...(This Aug3 he will be 36) and how old will Tim be...in two years(27)?!

I'm a big Tebow fan!! I'm also glad that he is getting another chance to play, even if it is with the Pats, LOL!!
