Going to Arizona for Vacation

We are going to Scottsdale, Arizona for vacation. We are leaving Friday and will be back the following Sunday. I need a break from gambling anyway. So the reason I posted this is I have never been there and I am wondering what there is to do. Any ideas from anybody out that way. Will do our share of laying at the pool I am sure. Any suggestions??

Been there a few years ago Mark. Had a really great time. We stayed at The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa. Had a great time and honestly was the best I ever golfed in my life. I did so well I have only played a couple times since. lol I cant ever compare to that time and since Im a recreational golfer it is too frustrating trying.

Love the area. Definitely go to Sedona which if I recall is about a 2 hour drive and make sure you take the Pink Jeep Tours. If you like to hike at all, cant fine a much better place to do so. Just walking into town, checking out the Indian reservations and shopping for unique stuff you dont normally see is something not to pass up. We stayed in Scottsdale and then went to Sedona for a couple of days on our trip. We also went to Phoenix just to drive thru and get a feel of the town.

Not sure what is on your "like" list to do. Museums, Parks, outdoor stuff etc.

But lots of parks in and around Scottsdale. Some museums such as the Penske museum although Im not a big racing fan. It really depends on what your calling is and what kind of resort you are staying at as well. Some resorts have enough to do for a couple days right there.

Sorry to be vague but can only really go by what we did. But most definitely go to Sedona and head into town and do the Jeep tour. Its a must.

Here is a bunch of things we looked at before going there.

Either way, relax, have fun and remember life is short so enjoy!!
And dont forget to eat some Mexican food. They make the best guacamole dip anywhere.

Thanks Spooky. I have read about Sedona and I will more than likely go there. The Grand Canyon I think is a five hour drive and I really don't want to spend that much driving while on vacation. Will probably hit an amusement park. We just love to see new and different things we normally do not see. The wife wants to do a hot air balloon ride. That makes me nervous, but I am will to try it. Thanks again for the info Spooky!!

Have a great time buddy. Again if you want to see different things and just amazingly beautiful area go to Sedona. Do a few amusement park stuff in Scottsdale area and then take a couple days and go to Sedona. Just walking up and down the center of town and window shopping is pretty cool. And I dont do window shopping usually. And the tours in Sedona will blow away anything you do elsewhere. Also check out one of the local markets or shopping venues in Scottsdale area to see some of the locals and some of the cool items they make by hand.
Have fun and take pictures. Create some memories my friend. Safe travels
