Some Friday MLB Helpful Information

Three pitchers with value for under bettors Friday

Following a relatively quiet Thursday in the major leagues, action picks up with a full slate of games Friday. There are a number of pitchers taking the hill who have been hot under picks in their most recent starts. Here is a look at three of them.

A.J. Burnett, Pittsburgh Pirates (3-4, 2.57 ERA)

The under is 4-0 in Burnett's last four starts and is 8-2 in his 10 starts this season. The Bucs ace barely gets any run support at all this year as the offense provides him with just 2.60 runs per game.

Burnett gets the ball against the Milwaukee Brewers Friday.

Eric Stults, San Diego Padres (4-3, 4.05 ERA)

The under is 4-0 in the lefty's previous four starts and is 5-1 in his last six. Stults has allowed just seven earned runs in his last four outings. That's good enough for a sparkling 2.39 ERA in that stretch.

The Padres are on the road to face the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday.

Chris Tillman, Baltimore Orioles (3-2, 3.52 ERA)

Tillman has also been pitching well with the under going 4-0 in his last four starts. The O's supply Tillman with the 10th lowest run support total in the American League with just 3.56 runs per start.

Tillman and the Orioles are in Toronto to face the Blue Jays Friday.

Oakland A's pitching keying hot under run

Once upon a time, the Oakland Athletics were cashing in for over bettors at a record setting pace. The A's started the season with a blistering 25-7 O/U record and were as close to a sure thing as you could find.

Oakland has decided to flip the script on us and has posted an under record of 9-2 in its past 11 games, including two in a row heading into action Friday.

Pitching was an especially soft spot for Oakland early on, but oh how things have changed. The staff had been good for the first five games of their previous 11, but over the last six, the ERA is an amazing 1.69.

There is a good opportunity for some more under bets in the future as the A's open a three-game series versus the Houston Astros Friday. The Astros are 10th in the American League in batting average (.246) and 14th in on-base percentage (.306).

Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Doc's Sports

Take #975 L.A. Angels (-110) over Kansas City (8 p.m., Friday, May 24)

It's been a tough season for the Los Angeles Angels so far. But there's way too much talent on this team to stay down forever, and they've started to show signs of life this week. They dug themselves a very similar hole last year and ended up having one of the best records in baseball from the end of May on. I think they have the potential to do that again as they have an important four-game series with a pretty good Kansas City Royals team. Jason Vargas goes for the Halos on Friday, and he got off to a horrible start to the 2013 season. It may have been the adjustment period for a new team and surroundings or poor offseason conditioning, but he just couldn't get it going in April. But since then he's been fantastic in May. In four starts he's 3-0 with a 2.20 ERA and 1.05 WHIP to go along with a 23-8 K/BB ratio. One of those starts was against the Royals in which he pitched seven strong innings while allowing only t! wo runs in picking up a win. The Royals counter with journeyman Luis Mendoza, who has bounced back and forth from the starting rotation, bullpen and minor leagues throughout his career. Mendoza is just a stopgap who really doesn't have good enough stuff to pitch deep into games. He holds a 5.50 ERA and 1.36 WHIP this season and hasn't found a good rhythm yet. He'll be up against it today with how well the Angels are swinging the bats. I'd be surprised if Mendoza can get them through five innings today, which will put extra pressure on the bullpen. Take Los Angeles in this one.

Free MLB Baseball Prediction From Allen Eastman

Take Pittsburgh over Milwaukee (8 p.m., Friday, May 23)

I think that Pittsburgh will be a solid favorite on the road in this game. They should be around -130 to -145. But I think Pittsburgh is worth the price. Milwaukee is just 4-17 in its last 21 games, and they are in a tailspin. This team lost three of four at Pittsburgh in mid-May, and the Pirates should get the job done this weekend for a series win. A.J. Burnett is on the mound for the Pirates in this one. The Pitt ace has just a 2.57 ERA on the year and has seven of eight quality starts. He has revenge for a loss to the Brewers on May 13, and I think he will get it. The Brewers are going with Marco Estrada in this one. He has a 5.44 ERA this year and has given up 18 runs in his last 20 innings. The Pirates lost to him the last time out, but they will be better since they just faced him two weeks ago. These two teams are on different paths. Take the road favorite in this game. They are worth the price!!.
