TRACKER RESULTS FOR NFL WEEK 4

The forum overall had one of their better winning weeks hitting for about 59% overall and has continued the positive trend through the first month of the regular season. Aiding most last week were sides plays where the forum wound up about 63%. Leading the way this week was RogueSalmon who enjoyed a 5-1 (83 %) week 4 thanks to New Orleans who jolted Jacksonville 23-10 at EverBank Field. Drew Brees completed 31/44 for 351 yards and a TD despite being picked off twice. Jed Collins ran for a one yard rushing TD and Brees completed a one yard scoring toss to Jimmy Graham (10-132) in the first half. The Saints had a balanced rushing attack that registered 178 yards and Jon Kasay connected on 3/5 field goal attempts. Rookie Blaine Gabbert had a rough game completing just 16/42 for 196 yards and a TD along with an INT. Maurice Jones Drew ran for 84 yards on just 11 carries (7.6), but all the Jaguars offense coudl muster other than a Gabbert TD pass was a 31 yard fg by Josh Scobee. The win gave the Saints their third straight win after opening the season with a loss at Gren Bay while Jacksonville fell to 1-3 overall. Rogue also hit with Baltimore who jarred the NY Jets 34-17 at M&T Bank Stadium Sunday night. Defense played a historic role in this Ravens victory as they scored 3 of their 4 TD's overall. Jameel McClain recovered a fumble in the first quarter and returned it 6 yards to the house that opened the scoring. Ray Rice (25-66 2.6 1 TD) scored the lone offensive TD taking it in from 3 yards out giving the Ravens a 17-7 first quarter lead. Billy Cundiff split the uprights on both of his first half field goal attempts, and Jarret Johnson recovered another fumble off a bad snap and returned it 26 yards to the house for a 27-14 halftime lead. Things continued to get worse for Mark Sanchez (11/35 119 1 INT), who lost 3 fumbles and committed all 4 Jets turnovers. Lardaruis Webb capped off the scoring for Baltimore with a 73 yard INT return in the 4th quarter as the Ravens defense bailed out an otherwise ineffective Joe Flacco (10/31 163 1 INT), though not nearly as feutile as his counterpart. The Jets managed just 38 yards rushing and had to depaned on special teams to score their first TD courtesy of a Joe McKnight 107 yard kickoff return. Other than a 35 yard INT return by David Harris, Nick Folk provided the only offense with a 40 yard FG as the Jets fell to 2-2 while Baltimore improved to 3-1 overall. Cgar44 scored nicely on a 4-1 afternoon for 80% featuring Green Bay who destroyed Denver 49-23 at Lambeau. Aaron Rodgers enjoyed a historic afternoon by scoring 6 of the 7 Packers TD. He threw for a career high 408 yards and 4 TD while completing 29/38 passes with just one pick. Rodgers, who has great scrambling ability for a big QB ran for 36 yards on 9 keeers (4.0) including 11 and 8 yard scampers keeping the Pack unbeaten at 4-0. It was a long afternoon for the Broncos, who committed 4 turnovers in all, 3 by Kyle Orton (22/32 273 3 TD 3 INT). Willis McGhaee ran for 103 yards on 15 carries (6.9) but was kept out of the endzone as Green Bay's second half surge made 1-3 Denver more one-dimensional. Thomas matched cgar's 4-1 and scored a nice win on Washington who held off St. Louis 17-10 at the Edward Jones Dome. Ryan Torain (19-135 7.1 1 TD) scored from 20 yards to paydirt in the first half and Rex Grossman (15/29 143 1 TD 2 INT) hooked up with Santana Moss (5-39 1 TD) for a 6 yard scoring pass that gave the Redskins a 14-0 lead at the break. Graham Gano added a 38 yard FG in the third quarter, but that was all the Washington offense would muster. Sam Bradford (20/43 164 1 TD) connected with Steven Jackson on a 15 yard TD pass and Josh Brown kicked a 32 yard field goal to make things interesting, but the Redskins defense stalled a Rams drive inside the 40 yard line just after the 2:00 warning. Washington improved to 3-1 while St. Louis remained winless at 0-4. Bobalou was one of two cappers to go 6-2 for 75% featuring the NY Giants who stormed back from a 10 point 4th quarter deficit to edge Arizona 31-27 at Glendale Stadium. Eli Manning (27/40 321 2 TD) completed a 29 yard TD pass to Hakeem Nicks (10-162 1 TD) with 2:37 remaining in the game to cap a 21 point 4th quarter. Ahmad Bradshaw (12-39 3.3 1 TD) was pretty much held in check by the Cardinals smothering running defense, but Kevin Kolb (20/34 237 1 INT) was kept out of the endzone all game as the Giants preserved the lead when it counted. Beanie Wells (27-138 5.1) scored all 3 Cardinals one yard rushing TDs, but Kolb's last stand was stopped on downs at the Giants 30 with a minute remaining. The Giants improved to 3-1 overall while Arizona fell to 1-3. Barb also hit with San Diego who defeated Miami 26-16 at Qualcomn Stadium. Philip Rivers (21/31 307 1 TD) seems to be getting back on the same page with his receivers as he opened the scoring with a 55 yard TD pass to Vincent Jackson (3-108 1 TD) late in the first quarter. Nick Novak connected on all 4 of his field goal attempts, including a 49 yarder just before time expired in the first half. San Diego's defense forced 3 turnovers and knocked out Chad Henne (3/4 27 1 INT) who will be having season ending shoulder surgery. Matt Moore (17/26 167 1 INT) was fairly efficient but could not lead Miami into the end zone in an otherwise close contest. Dan Carpenter connected on all 3 of his field goal attempts including a 51 yarder, but the only TD Miami could manage was a one yard run by Lex Hillard (6-20 3.3 1 TD) as the Dolphins fell to 0-4 while San Diego improved to 3-1. Skinhead matched bobalou's 6-2 with an upset shocker on San Francisco who edged Philadelphia 24-23 at Lincoln Financial Field. Frank Gore (15-127 8.5 1 TD) scampered 12 yards into the endzone with 3:00 remaining erasing a 20 point first half deficit. Alex Smith continued to settle in as the 49ers starter completing 21/33 for 290 yards and 2 TD, a 30 yarder to Josh Morgan (3-65 1 TD) and a 9 yarder to Vernon Davis (4-45 1 TD) in the second half. Just a week after Michael Vick broke his right hand, he completed 30/46 for a career high 416 yards and 2 TD along with 1 INT. vick also ran for 75 yards on 8 carries (9.4) and found LeSean McCoy (6-34 1 TD) on a 5 yard scoring pass late in the first half. Alex Henery connected on 3 of 5 field goal tries, but missed two crucial attempts from 39 and 33 yards, the latter coming with :28 remaining as the Eaglesfell to 1-3 despite gaining 525 total yards and once deemed the NFC East odds on favorite champions in the preseason. The 49ers, who racked up 455 yards of total offense improved to 3-1 overall atop the NFC West. Skinhead also scored nicely with Tennessee who clobbered Cleveland 31-13 at the dog pound. Controversial holdout Chris Johnson (23-101 4.4) finalyl had his breakout game and Matt Hasslebeck (10/20 220 3 TD 1 INT) completed scoring passes to 3 different receivers. Rob Bironas added a 36 yard field goal and the Titans defense held the Browns to just 84 rushing yards. Colt McCoy completed a career high 40/61 for 350 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Phil Dawson connected on both of his field goal attempts of 48 and 51 yards respectively, but the Browns couldn't find the end zone until McCoy found Benjamin Watson (6-48 1 TD) on a 10 yard scoring pass early in the 4th quarter. Tennessee improved to 3-1 while Cleveland fell to 2-2. Yours truly took his agressions out on the NFL board to the tune of a 21-10 (68%) week 4 featuring Houston who defeated Pittsburgh 17-10 at Reliant Stadium. Despite committing 10 penalties, Arian Foster broke a 10-10 tie with a 42 yard scoring run with 12:25 remaining. Foster gained 155 yards on 30 carries (5.2) and took a lot of pressure off of Matt Schaub (14/21 138 1 TD) who was turnover free. Neil Rackers kicked a 25 yard field goal that gave the Texans a 10-0 halftime advantage that should have been a lot more despite various penalties that brought several big plays back. Still the defense came up big sacking Ben Roethlisberger (16/30 206 1 INT) 6 times. Rashard Mendenhall (9-25 2.8 1 TD) got Pittsburgh on the board on a 3 yard scoring run midway through the third quarter but Shaun Suisham managed the only other offense with a 26 yard field goal and had another 38 yarder blocked that looked to be returned for a Houston TD by the special teams only to be called back for an illegal block in the back penalty. Houston improved to 3-1 while Pittsburgh fell to 2-2. I also hit with Carolina who covered the TD dog spread before falling to Chicago 34-29 at Soldier Field. Matt Forte rushed for a career high 205 yards on 25 carries (8.2) including a 17 yard TD run early in the first half that gave the Bears a 17-10 lead. Forte also had runs of 46 and 40 yards separately, and Marion Barber (5-17 3.4 1 TD) iced the game late with a 3 yard scoring run. The rushing attack bailed out an ineffective Jay Cutler (9/17 102 1 INT) and the defense survived 374 passing yards by Cam Newton (27/46) who also threw for a TD and ran for 2 more (8-35 4.4 2 TD). Steve Smith caught 8 passes for 182 yards in a losing effort. With 3:18 remaining, Carolina was stopped on 4th down at their own 43, and Forte ran the next play from scrimmage 40 yards to the Panther 3 setting up the clinching score. the Bears improved to 2-2 while Carolina fell to 1-3. Slave was one of three cappers to hit for 67%, going 4-2 featuring Detroit who overcame a 24 point second half deficit to defeat Dallas 34-30 at Cowboys Stadium. Matthew Stafford (21/43 240 2 TD 1 INT) found Calvin Johnson (8-96 2 TD) on a 2 yard scoring toss with 1:39 remaining giving the Lions their first lead and eventually 4th win of the season without a defeat. Stafford also found Johnson on a 23 yard TD pass early in the 4th quarter that got the Lions to within 30-24. Jason Hanson added 2 field goals and the Detroit defense came up big with INT returns for scores by Bobby Carpenter from 34 yards and Chris Houston for 56 mounting the comeback. Tony Romo (34/47 331 3 TD 3 INT) was brilliant in the first half, however the offense could manage only 3 second half points. Dan Bailey converted all 3 of his field goal attempts, but Romo's comeback fell short as he failed to convert a 4th and 20 from midfield dropping the Cowboys to 2-2 with all games this season decided by 4 points or less. Boogyman went 6-3 in week 4 highlighted by New England who upended Oakland 31-19 at the o.com Coliseum. Tom Brady (16/30 226 2 TD) righted the ship after throwing 4 picks in a heartbreaking loss at Buffalo several weeks back. The Patriots also got some solid contribution at RB as Stevan Ridley (10-97 9.7 1 TD) and BenJarvus Green Ellis (16-75 4.7 1 TD) each ran for scores. Stephen Gostkowski added a 44 yard field goal, and the New England defense forced 3 turnovers, 2 by Jason Campbell (25/39 344 1 TD 2 INT). Darren McFadden ran for 75 yards on 14 carries (5.4) but was kept out of the end zone, and Sebastian Janikowski added 2 field goals in the loss. The Pats improved to 3-1 while Oakland fell to 2-2. Finally, JB rounds out our BTB crew of cappers by going 6-3 featuring Indianapolis on Monday night as a double digit dog falling to Tampa Bay 24-17 at Raymond James Stadium. LeGarette Blount (25-127 5.1 1 TD) broke a 17 all tie with a 35 yard scoring run at the 3:15 mark of the 4th quarter. Blount led a running attack that gained 192 yards and Josh Freeman(25/39 287 1 TD) helped tie the game with a 13 yard TD pass to Preston Parker (5-70 1 TD). The first start for rookie Curtis Painter (13/30 281 2 TD) didn't end victorious, but he showed promise early leading the Colts to a 10-0 first quarter lead thanks to an 87 yard TD pass to Pierre Garcon (2-146 2 TD). He later hooked up again with Garcon on a 59 yarder in the second half, but the Tampa Bay defense stymied the Indy running attack limiting the Colts to just 62 yards on the ground. the Bucs improved to 3-1 while the colts remained winless at 0-4. Here's how the rest of the BTB forum fared overall in week 4.
