Spooky Express NFL Betting Preview: Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars- Dec 5, 2013 This Thursday night, we have a game that really doesn’t jump off the page at you, as it’s between two teams who are really just playing for the first pick in the draft. For the Jacksonville Jaguars, they are 3-9 this year, but have to be happy that they didn’t get anywhere near that 0-16 record that many people had hyped up. The Houston Texans on the other side have been one of the biggest disappointments in the NFL this season, as they are 2-10 overall, and are just looking to find something for the future to be happy about. The Texans think they may have found a future quarterback in Case Keenum, but he’s had some up and down this year, so it’s hard to tell what will happen with that. Going into Jacksonville isn’t the toughest place to play, but Keenum needs to play well in this nationally televised game, especially after he did a great job of helping keep the Texans right there with the New England Patriots last weekend. The Jaguars have actually won three of their last four games, with the lone loss coming to a potential playoff team in the Arizona Cardinals. They also beat this Houston team by a score of 13-6 in that span. The worst part for the Texans? Well, they started this year out 2-0, and have reeled off 10 straight losses from that point. To say that the Texans have been struggling is an understatement, and a massive one at that. Offensive Woes These two offenses have simply been struggling. Looking at the Texans you’ll see that they average 19.2 points per game, which isn’t great, and the Jaguars are even worse as they average only 14.5 points per game. Both teams have had some awful games offensively, but seem to be at least connecting to some level, but not a level that makes me feel confident betting on either team. Consensus I’m not going to lie, I absolutely love the Jags in this spot. Grabbing points at home on a nationally televised game against a team that has lost 9 in a row. Cmon Man! In addition how about this? Our resident capper and article writer, Ryan Knuppel feels........How about a 7 point teaser. Teasers are often overlooked, but you can get a teaser on the Jaguars +10 in front of their home fans, and also add the UNDER 49.5. Both teams have struggled to score, so I feel great about both of those bets, and it could be an excellent option on this game.
