Not often I would ever want to say this outloud and make his head even bigger than it already is. But after his performance in yesterdays College Football schedule I have to tip my hat and give him a standing ovation. In our College Football Weekly and Seasonal Contest for this week. JimmytheGreek went 12-0 Yeah, try doing that sometime. In your life. So congratulations to Greek and humbly I bow down and say good job even if you are going down today with your Cowboys. 1. jimmythegreek Points/Max 16 / 16 Wins 12 Key Wins 4 LOUISV -20½ OKLAST -14½ OHIO -24½ FLAST -28½ ALAB -27½ N.ILL -30½ BAYLOR -35½ NTEXAS -10½ OREG -21½ MISS -41½ ARIZON -16½ WASH -23½
Spooky Express Best and Worst of the NFL....... -- Jaguars-- ’84 Oilers were last team to lose first six games by double figure margins; Jags are at seven and counting. Only game they’ve covered was as 27-point underdogs. -- Buccaneers—No wins, three staph infections, QB was fired, with coach soon to follow. Not their finest moment. -- Vikings—Scooped up Josh Freeman, QB Bucs fired, for some unknown reason; he threw 53 passes Monday, despite having Adrian Peterson behind him. This is called bad coaching. -- Browns—0-6 when Weeden starts; so Jason Campbell gets his turn this week. This team has some talent, they went 3-0 when Hoyer started. -- Giants—Has any team ever looked less happy to win a game than the Giants Monday night? They’ve lost eight games in row on road, Eagles have lost nine in row at home. Something has to give Sunday at the Linc. -- Saints—Probably should be higher on this list, but I have the only 7-0 team 4th, so then again, maybe not. -- Colts—Jim Irsay did a masterful job deflecting pressure off his young QB last week, with Peyton Manning coming to town. Indy gave other defenses a road map on how to defend Denver. All those teams need now is Robert Mathis to terrorize #18, but only the Colts have him. -- Chiefs—Still have two games left with Denver; would they sign up for a split right now? -- 49ers—Won/covered last four games, have vacation in England this week against the hapless Jags. -- Seahawks—I’m sure they’re terrified of Kellen Clemens Monday night, but the '99 Rams lost their starting QB to injury and won a Super Bowl five months later, so unusual things can happen. -- Broncos—You don’t lose the top spot because of a 39-33 loss at Indy; at one point, when down 19, Denver was 200-1 to win the game; 20 minutes later, they were 1.35-1, before the INT when they were down 36-30. In-game wagering is wild.
Spooky's questions for the weekend.......... -- Where will the NL Wild Game be played? Reds-Pirates play three games this weekend, winner gets home field. Six months of games boils down to one weekend, as teams jockey for position for next week’s playoffs. -- Three of the seven NFL unbeatens are underdogs this week; three of the six winless teams are favored. Go figure. -- LSU QB Zach Mettenberger originally went to Georgia, but got kicked off the team and wound up at LSU, where his career has blossomed under former NFL coach Cam Cameron. Zach’s mom still works in the Georgia athletic department; Dawgs’ coach Mark Richt gave her this week off. Big game in Athens. -- Steelers-Vikings was once a Super Bowl matchup; now it’s a battle of winless teams in London. Someone is coming back across the pond 0-4, which will make for a very long flight and bye week. -- Oklahoma visits Notre Dame, where pass interference flags fly like confetti when the Irish have the ball. Sooner QB Blake Bell is making his first road start; he’s more of a runner than a passer, but was 27-37/413 in his first start against Tulsa. This will be a little different than playing against Tulsa. OK, a lot different. -- Bucs coach Schiano went ahead and benched Josh Freeman for rookie Mike Glennon, a much anticipated move. Curious to see how the team reacts, not like Glennon did that great when NC State cut Russell Wilson loose so Glennon could start for two years in Raleigh. -- USC is a 6-point underdog at Arizona State, which played Wisconsin, Stanford the last two weeks; what genius made that schedule? First Pac-12 road start for Trojan QB Kessler; the way USC fans including me seem to despise Lane Kiffin, maybe USC will play better in a hostile environment. Unless we get a new coach and offensive co-ordinator I doubt it. -- In New England’s first three games, they faced two rookie QBs and then Josh Freeman, who was benched three days later; now they’re facing Matt Ryan’s Falcons, who are 19-4 vs spread off a loss under Mike Smith. Major step or two up in class for New England’s young receivers. -- Can Texas avoid a second consecutive September meltdown by coming from behind to get in the Wild Card game? Can the Indians complete a fantastic season by making the playoffs? Who will be top seed in the AL? -- Dolphins at Saints is an excellent Monday night game. Once upon a team, Drew Brees left the Chargers as a free agent after shoulder surgery; the Miami head coach, acting on medical advice, chose Daunte Culpepper over Brees as a free agent sign. Brees signed with the Saints and has done great. The Miami coach quit after two years, but has done well since elsewhere. Guy named Nick Saban.
Can you believe it's week 5 already? Last week BTB stomped all over the books hitting for nearly a 67% success rate with several undefeated handicappers and two others that nearly ran the table in large quantities to combine for a 90% handcuffing! These are numbers that makes the Greek even more hungry for the forum to bang the books even harder! Starting this Thursday night we have 2 games to kick off week 5. One featuring Virginia Tech at Georgia Tech from Bobby Dodd Stadium, and Iowa at Tulsa from Skelly Field! GL!
Action begins Thursday evening with an ACC matchup from Carter-Finley Stadium. GL!
Action begins Thursday night with an NFL Network matchup from Lincoln Financial Field! GL!
SPOOKY'S WORST OF WEEK 1 Eminem will NEVER jinx his beloved Lions. Gotta love his interview from last week. Spooky and Eminem Oh yeah! We’re back to 20 plus straight weeks of “Worst Of” posts! Football season is so great. It really makes the Express NFL thread so easy. Now if we can just get that Marc Trestman/molestation story to break (AND IT WILL), we’ll be all set until Christmas. You know how this works by now. Games were played last weekend and we spend all week slamming the shittiest performances as well as bragging/lamenting about our fantasy teams. Spooky Express partnered up with the Diva of Fantasy Football, BOBALOU this year. The Denver Saltines - We all saw how Eric Decker is awful but I want direct some venom at Wes Welker. Yeah, he scored twice and I get that but he had two terrible drops and muffed a punt inside the five. I guess what I'm pointing out here is that Welker is losing his touch a bit after leading the NFL in drops last season. Stevan Ridley - Hey asshole, don't fumble the ball when you nobody touches you. Man, that is a killer when one of your studs gets benched due to one shitty play. Also, LOL Bills for choking away at that game. Anyone else want to challenge me that the Pats aren't that good? Marvin Lewis - Yep, this is why the haters think that he sucks as a coach. You can't blow all three of your timeouts in the third quarter on the road against a good team. The entire AFC North lost this week and the Bengals were the only team to not get buttfucked. I still think that they are good because AJ Green is unstoppable. Brandon Weeden - Watching my team play on NFL Package and when I finally turned to the Red Zone channel at 2 pm and Mr. Talent had already launched his third pick. Same old Browns. Apparently, preseason performance doesn't mean shit. Who'd a thunk it! Mike Wallace - Fuck this guy so hard. You win a game and then you act all ass-y after the game because you only had one catch? Maybe you should learn another route other than "straight", jerk. Megatron - Yo, bro, one of these days you are going to need to read the rulebook and understand what it takes to score a touchdown. You know I love this guy and he is da man. But Tron had two rescinded by inches and I want to believe that it was karma for doing those weird ads that make zero sense with P Diddy. Also from this game was another dirty hit by Suh (that was called correctly) that wiped away a pick six. Enough Already. Pryor Haters! - TP looked damn good! ADMIT IT! The Raiders weren't nearly as shitty as we initially thought because TP can run around and avoid a hundred sacks per game. Go Pryor! Matty Ice - This loser just can't punch it in when he gets inside the ten, can he? The Saints were statistically the worst defense in NFL history last season and the Falcons hung a mean 17 points on them. The Falcons are going to struggle this year. Greg Schiano - We all hate the Jets but it was pretty amazing to watch the Jets outplay the Bucs through the final whistle. If I knew the name of the cat who chucked Geno out of bounds on that final drive, he would be a shoe-in for LVP of the Week. But I don't care. Josh Freeman is shit. Darius Reynaud - Sunday got off to a great start with an opening kickoff safety which never happens but did this week because this guy is an idiot. Who would've guessed that Reynaud would have outscored the rest of the Steelers for 58 minutes! Todd Haley - Your offense sucks, BRAH. Pittsburgh Kid may not like to admit it but Pittsburgh is in a world of hurt. Just as I thought they would be. Cortland Finnegan - That Rams/Cards game was shockingly awesome. If you have watched the NFL at all, you know that Finnegan is an asshole and everything bad that happens to him is deserved and more. He was abused all day by LarryFitz. I enjoyed it greatly. Big props to blackest man in the NFL, Jared Cook, for having a monster game for Spooky and the Diva Bobalou's fantasy team. Clay Matthews - He must be on another steroid cycle because he was being a giant douche out there yesterday. His late hit on CK was garbage and he threw a punch at a MAC titan. Weak! That was a damn fine game as well and it only led to a deeper love for Jimmy BRAH as going for it on 4th and 2 was absolutely the right call to make. Coaches with balls are way better than coaches with pussies. And now we are left with Monday Night where Chippy starts his NFL coaching career against the future Super Bowl champions. Did you know that RG3 is back? Has everyone had enough of Chris Berman doing PBP on the Texans/Chargers. Wonderful. Let him stay in the studio or eat another donut somewhere. STFU Berman.
Week 2 begins Thursday night from Gillette Stadium in Foxboro. GL!

Ok OK OK.....so I'm not Spooky...but then again, no one is that short anyway. I just figured it would be a great way to get some smart-assed response from him, and get people to read my shit. As some of you know, I retired from the Air Force 3 weeks ago after 38 years of service. During the weeks both prior and after, I was really busy dealing with getting my retirement set up, and then hunting for deer in Ca. and property in Az. after. So I have not been able to post much during that time. I am changing all that now starting with this post. Tonight I am taking in 4-3 round robin with the NFL and NCAA combined. I am on: Baltimore -12 Over 44 Stanford -7 Over 49 As well...I am doing a 6 point teaser on these: Baltimore -6 Over 38 Stanford -1 Over 43. On Sunday I will be back to my usual antics with second half plays. Last Sunday I went 6-2 on those, and the week prior I was 7-3. I see a lot of college plays I like a TON, and several NFL on Sunday. Good luck folks...looking forward to getting back in the groove, and Spooky's smart-assed comments.....yeah Marc....I saw your post a couple of weeks ago on your express asking if anyone has seen me. Bring it on brother!! I can banter with the best of 'em!!
