In a deal he gets suspended for the first half against Rice...just saw this on ESPN....I find that fascinating - the NCAA acknowledged that he didn't receive any payments for autographs (just means he got cash...LOL) So why suspend him at all? I mean this is the equivalent of absolutely nothing so what's the point?

Not sure what I've missed, but I don't see any ML bets on BookMaker for college or pro. Is this a well known thing and I completely missed the boat? I feel kind of like an idiot asking, just not sure what the hell happened to them. TIA Brian

BangtheBook.com Week One College Football Preview: (5) Georgia vs. (8) Clemson When the college football season kicks off in week one, if there is one game that will make the difference in who wins a national championship, it will be the game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Clemson Tigers. Both of these teams have high aspirations and the winner will undoubtedly creep up the college football rankings. Georgia vs. Clemson Odds: The Bulldogs opened up as small (-2.5) point road favorites in this game, but that line has slowly been bet down in favor of the Clemson Tigers. It can now be found as low as Georgia (-1.5) as this is expected to be a closely contested game by two of the best teams in the country. To make this game even more exciting, the highly anticipated college football preview show, ESPN Gameday, will be on hand to kick off the game and the season in grand fashion. Georgia comes into this game just one play away from beating Alabama a year ago. With a solid returning foundation, the fans have every reason to believe that they can win the National Championship this season. It all starts with the returning signal caller Aaron Murray who will undoubtedly be one of the best quarterbacks in the country this year. He is accompanied by one of the best backfields in all of college football. Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall gained 2,144 yards and scored 25 touchdowns last year and are ready to contribute again this season. Combine this offense with a defense that attacks the ball and boasts some of the best players in the country and Georgia have a recipe to win a national title. Clemson thinks they have a similar résumé. On offense the Tigers return possible Heisman candidate Tajh Boyd and deep threat Sammy Watkins who will power an offense that will be tough to beat. On defense the Tigers will bring back two key pieces to include defensive end Vic Beasley and linebacker Spencer Shuey who will set the pace for the rest of the team to follow. The one problem for the Tigers will be in the secondary. Garry Peters and Darius Robinson have missed time, along with freshmen Mackensie Alexander, Jayron Kearse and Adrian Baker. That could be tough sledding against Murray and a Bulldogs offense that is explosive. The sports betting trends for this game reveal some interesting angles. The Bulldogs are 9-3-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 13 vs. ACC and 6-1 ATS in the last seven games overall. This means the Bulldogs ended the year on a good winning streak with sports bettors. The same could be said for the Tigers who ended the season on an 8-2 ATS winning streak in their last ten games. The college football season starts now and for these two teams the National Championship is on the line in week one. Cole

Green Bay -6 over Atlanta: The Atlanta Falcons do not need to be reminded of how badly they were dominated by Green Bay in the playoffs last season. They also know the challenge of beating the Packers this time might be even tougher. Seven months after the Packers stormed through Atlanta on their way to a Super Bowl title, the Falcons get a shot to avenge that loss Sunday night at the Georgia Dome. Atlanta (2-2) was the No. 1 seed in the NFC and playing at home in January, but Aaron Rodgers carved up the Falcons by going 31 of 36 for 366 yards with three touchdown passes and one rushing score in Green Bay's 48-21 divisional playoff win. The Packers (4-0) have won 10 straight games including postseason since losing 31-27 at New England in Week 15 last December - a game Rodgers sat out due to a concussion. Also healthier now than the last time it faced Atlanta, Green Bay is averaging a league-high 37.0 points and is coming off a 49-23 win over Denver last Sunday in which it totaled 507 yards. Rodgers threw for a regular season career-high 408 yards against the Broncos and became the first player in NFL history with 400 passing yards, four passing TDs and two rushing scores in a single game. In addition to Rodgers, five other Packers scored touchdowns, including cornerback Charles Woodson's 11th career interception return for a score. Receiver Greg Jennings has caught 17 passes for 222 yards over the last two games overall and 18 for 220 in his last two versus Atlanta. Rodgers has MVP-caliber numbers through the first quarter of the season, completing 73.0 percent of his passes for 1,325 yards with 12 TDs and two interceptions. He could have more success versus a Falcons defense that allowed four touchdowns and 372 total yards in a 30-28 victory Sunday over a Seattle team that had scored 30 total points coming into the game. On the other side of the ball, Atlanta would like to exploit a Green Bay defense that ranks 31st against the pass with 335.8 yards allowed per game and has yielded 25 plays of 20-plus yards. If the Falcons hope to move the ball through the air, quarterback Matt Ryan will need to be better than he was versus Green Bay in January, when he threw one touchdown and two interceptions and was sacked five times. He's thrown six TDs and four interceptions this season and has been sacked 13 times - sixth-most in the NFL. Even with star Roddy White on the field, rookie receiver Julio Jones is becoming another favorite of Ryan. The sixth overall pick, Jones set a single-game franchise record with 11 receptions last week and has totaled 242 yards over the last two games. The Falcons also would like to get Michael Turner untracked after totaling 90 yards in his last two contests following consecutive 100-games to open the season. Turner ran for 231 on 49 carries in his previous two games versus Green Bay before he was held to 39 on 10 rushes in the playoff loss. To think the Packers can charge right back into Atlanta and crank out a facsimile of their whipping of the Falcons in the NFC divisional playoff last January seems far-fetched. Then again, Green Bay is blazing with a league-high 148 points after four weeks. Rodgers has been as masterful in the passing game to start this season as he was in the postseason. As much as the Falcons like to push the football vertically, they haven't reneged on their objective of controlling the clock. Getting back to pounding the football with Turner seems likely. Either way it will not be enough against this high powered offense who can execute in the blink of an eye. Packers by 2 TD's in the cozy high scoring atmosphere of the Georgia Dome.

The Pitt/Houston game looks like a strong over candidate to me. Sitting at 45, Pitt defense has not been the same as we think of the Pitt D to be in years past. They don't seem to have a huge problem scoring other than the wipeout vs Balt in week one where they gave up 35. Houston has scored in the following order...34, 23, and 33. The more I look into it, the more I like the over 45. The game has 35-30 type feel to it. I'm taking the over. GL Everyone!

Another real good week for a couple bookies as Charlie Ludlow of the Las Vegas Hilton and Mike Piranio of Mandalay Bay both went 11-4 last week. Frank Turco of the El Cortez continues to lead the pack at 31-16, while Mike Colbert(Cantor Gaming), Brad Trembler(Gold Coast) and Mike Piranio(Mandalay Bay) are right behind him with 29-18 records. Week 4 Picks Frank Turco, El Cortez, last week 9-6, overall 31-16; DAL NO SF WAS TEN BUF MIN CHI HOU ATL NYG MIA GB OAK BAL TB and Best Bet is ATL Mike Colbert, Cantor Gaming, last week 9-6, overall 29-18; DAL JAC SF STL CLE CIN KC CHI HOU SEA ARI MIA GB OAK BAL TB and Best Bet is BAL Brad Trembler, Gold Coast, last week 9-6, overall 29-18; DET NO PHI STL CLE CIN KC CHI PIT SEA ARI MIA DEN NE BAL TB and Best Bet is NE Mike Piranio, Mandalay Bay, last week 11-4, overall 29-18; DET JAC PHI STL CLE CIN KC CHI HOU SEA ARI MIA DEN NE BAL TB and Best Bet is CLE We have several line changes to consider this week. The guys picked the Eagles at –6.5, and that line is at –9 now. When the bookies made their picks the Rams were favored by 2.5, and now we see that the Redskins are now favored by 2.5. The Texans were at –2.5 and that line has moved to –4. The Charges line was picked at –8.5 and now has moved down to the key number of –7. Finally the line on the Bucs was –8.5 and now has moved to the key number of –10. Lots to consider with those changes…. This week the Top Bookies differ from the Consensus Picks on 3 games. (with 3 out of 4 top bookies going against the consensus). The Top Bookies have STL KC and SEA whereas the consensus has WAS MIN and ATL. ***I should note(again), that the top bookies(3 out of 4) picked the Rams and gave 2.5 points and now the line has changed so that they are GETTING 2.5 but the consensus picked the Redskins*** Top Consensus picks this week are Miami(44), Arizona(43) and Atlanta(42), the the Number One Best bet is the Detroit Lions, as 7 Bookies made them their top choice. GLTA!

Let down week for the Giants and Bills this week? Both had huge divisional games. Bills dont scare me as much but the Giants traveling cross country is hard enough, throw in how well they played last week puts them in a tough spot.
