Opening Line: Colts -6.5, Total 49.5

The Indianapolis Colts open up defense of their Super Bowl title hosting the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.  Peyton Manning and the high-powered Colt’s offense will matchup against Drew Brees and the Saints.  Manning completed 65 percent of his passes for 4,397 yards, 31 touchdowns and only 9 interceptions last year.  He was 25-for-38 for 247 yards with a touchdown and an interception as he won the Super Bowl MVP. The Colts have lost four starters and could have some trouble this season.  They lost left tackle Tarik Glenn, cornerbacks Nick Harper and Jason David and they lost Anthony McFarland to injury. The good news for the Colts is that Pro Bowl receivers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne are back to catch the ball from Manning.  Also back is second-year running back Joseph Addai, who rushed for 1,081 yards last year.  SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Colts at home.

New Orleans is one of the favorites in the NFC after finishing 10-6 last year.  Drew Brees led the New Orleans offense throwing for 4,503 yards. "I still feel like we've only scratched the surface as an offense," said Brees, "We've got a lot of weapons and we've got a lot of balls to be spread around. I'm excited about the possibilities and the opportunity we have."  The Saints should score against a Colt’s defense that looks weak.  Running back Deuce McAllister rushed for 1,057 yards and 10 TDs in 2006 and Reggie Bush finished with a team-leading 88 catches for 742 yards, while rushing for 565 yards on 155 carries. Receiver Marques Colston is also a good one.

SBG Global Current Line: Colts -6 , Total 53

Here are the betting statistics for Thursday’s game.  The Saints are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Saints are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games in September. The Saints are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Pick Saints +6 3 units - Too much offense here and not enough defense, Saints will keep this one close!
