The New York Giants need only one more win to guarantee themselves one of the two NFC Wild Card playoff spots. They will get their first chance on Sunday as they host the Washington Redskins at the Meadowlands. The Giants have won nine of eleven games since losing their opening two games of the season. "We don't have anything secured," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "We are playing as hard as we can to get as good as we can to be in position to know we are playing our best football. That is not the case yet." While things look good for New York they should not be overconfident. A loss against the Redskins could be a big problem considering New York has to go to Buffalo next week and then host the unbeaten Patriots in their last game of the year. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Giants at Home.
The Giants are coming off a 16-13 win last week at Philadelphia. The Giants got a big game out of receiver Plaxico Burress who had seven catches for 136 yards and a touchdown. "We're a 9-4 football team," Burress said, "We're trying to go out this week and clinch a playoff berth. Nobody probably expected me to go out there and do half the things I've done. I'm thankful for being in the position I'm in right now." The Giants have been getting by in recent weeks without a strong offense. They have scored two touchdowns or fewer in five of the last six games. Sunday's victory was the Giants' sixth straight on the road. New York is only 3-3 at home. "We're playing pretty well on the road,' Coughlin said, "We hang together. We battle. We believe in each other. We believe that we can find a way to win and we never stop playing. We have good heart. It's not always pretty, but some how, some way we scratch and find a way.”

The Redskins are still alive in the Wild Card chase but must win on Sunday with 36-year-old backup quarterback Todd Collins. Last week the Redskins defeated Chicago 24-16 and Collins led four scoring drives, throwing two TD passes. "He had a certain swagger about him," left tackle Chris Samuels said. "He let you know right off the bat: 'I'm the guy now and I'm taking charge of this huddle." The key for Collins will be getting enough time to throw. New York leads the NFL with 47 sacks.
The Redskins have lost three straight overall in the series against the Giants and are 1-5 in their six visits to the Meadowlands.
