Opening Line: Giants -3.5 , Total 43 (-115)
The New York Giants look to win their fourth straight game tonight as they take on the Atlanta Falcons. The road team has won the last 11 times these two teams have met. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Giants on the Road.
One of the biggest problems for Atlanta tonight is an offensive line that is a mess. The Falcons will be using two new starting offensive tackles. That will make a total of three rookies starting on the offensive line. It could be a problem against a Giants defensive front led by Strahan and Umenyiora. It was Umenyiora who had six sacks against the Eagles. "It is a pretty good concern," Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino said. "We watch him (Umenyiora) on tape, and he is a great pass rusher and obviously has all kinds of production, so we certainly have to make sure we try to take care of Renardo and help him as much as we can." Surprisingly, the Giants only had one sack last week in the win over the Jets. "We need to improve," Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. "That is something we are analyzing right now. I thought the Jets did a nice job with their scheme, to be honest with you. I thought they did a good job with their protection and their chips and their slides and their chips and the tight end being one so I won't take anything away from them."
SBG Global Current Line: Giants -4.5 (-115) , Total 43.5 (-115)
The Falcons have issues in other areas in addition to the offensive line. Quarterback Joey Harrington will get the start but Byron Leftwich is waiting in the wings. Tight end Alge Crumpler had just two catches last week and criticized the head coach after the game. New York is not having those types of problems yet. The Giants have won three straight and receiver Plaxico Burress continues to lead the offense. He has scored in every game this season and is tied with New England's Randy Moss with 7 TD’s to lead the league.
