The week turned ugly quick as the super seven mirrored the one win performance from a week ago. Change is good and the super seven is looking for plenty of it this week as it redeems its performance in the past weeks and go for a winning slate.
1. Redskins -3
The Skins are having a very tough time dealing with the death of Sean Taylor and it does not get any easier as they approach a short week after going to the funeral services on Monday. The Bears are 2-9 ATS in the last 11 games in week 14 and are 5-13 ATS in the last 18 games overall. The Redskins rebound this week with a huge win against the Bears.
2. Detroit +10.5
The Lions are free falling and losing the grip on playoffs hopes and it looks to get uglier against Dallas. Some Dallas defensive players are talking smack about Kitna and that should be just what Detroit needs to keep them close at home! The play here is on the desperate home team trying to keep it close! Dallas will have better things to look forward to down the road and will have to rally late to avoid the upset.
3. Patriots -10
This line looks fishy to those that have watched the Pats over the last two weeks struggle with teams that are good defensively and that can run the ball. To me its too small and the Pats will cover by much more than this. They have revenge against the Steelers and have to show the world that they can play against a physical team and dismiss the “blueprint” theory.
4. Oakland +10.5
The talk of Farve missing a game and how well Rodgers played when he went down is over. There is not contraversy and Brett Farve will keep his streak alive. The Raiders are playing very well and do not get the credit for it although they toppled the Broncos last week. The defense has always been a staple and the running game is rejuvenated. The Raiders are worth a serious look on the money line as the head to Green Bay this weekend.
5. KC / Denver Over 37
History will tell you that when these teams match up against each other it is a high scoring affair and this meeting will be no different. The over is 10-1 in Denver’s last 11 home games and 9-3 in the last 12 meetings against one another. Look for the offensive weapons to be out for this battle in week 14.
6. Arizona +7
Arizona is on the cusp of being a good playoff team and to do that they need to win on the road and win big games. This is the big game that they have circled when it came to this year. Arizona is a bit thin at the wide receiving corps but the system allows other players to be interchangeable. Arizona has not been winning on the road at just 2-4 but they have been keeping it close as evident by the 8-2 ATS in the last ten games on the road.
7. Tampa Bay / Houston Under 40.5
This is going to be a game ruled by the defensive side of the ball. Both defenses have played well and the offense have been slowed in recent weeks when playing opponents. The Bucs play well in December on defense hitting the under in 7 out of the last ten games. The under is also 16-7 in the last 23 road games for the Bucs. This one stays under by a mile!
