NFL Preseason Betting Preview Cincinnati Bengals at Atlanta Falcons Pick

Tonight’s preseason game between the Bengals and Falcons has already been overshadowed by the Michael Vick saga. Vick pleaded guilty today to federal dogfighting charges and will be sentenced December 10th. The Falcons now can move on without Vick and hopefully put this behind them starting with the game against the Bengals tonight. SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Bengals on the road.

"We just want people to come out and support us and give us an opportunity to show them what we have," Falcons running back Warrick Dunn said. "To me, if they are true Falcons fans, they are going to support us, no matter what happened off the field. Now everyone is concentrating on the guys who are here and getting better. Hopefully the fans are excited and will support the guys who will be playing."

The Falcons are 1-1 in the preseason so far and are trying to get Joey Harrington ready to take over Vick’s quarterback position. Harrington is 10-16 for 199 yards in the preseason. "I'm not worried about any comparisons," Harrington said. "I've said that from the beginning. I'm not trying to be someone else. I'm trying to be the best that I can be for this team." The Falcons may be able to put up some points tonight against a Bengals defense that has give up a lot of points so far in the preseason. RB Warrick Dunn will make his preseason debut tonight for Atlanta and get a lot of work. RB Jerious Norwood is expected to play in the second half.

Cincinnati will be looking to score some points tonight as well. The first team offense has not scored a TD in the preseason although they do not seem concerned. "Preseason is very boring for me," said receiver Chad Johnson. Cincinnati quarterback Carson Palmer is 12-of-21for 134 yards this season. It is expected that both teams will play their starters into the third quarter tonight. Palmer will be followed at quarterback by Doug Johnson and possibly Jeff Rowe and Jeff Smith. The Falcons will go with Harrington at quarterback into the third quarter followed by Chris Redman and Casey Bramlet.

Atlanta has won nearly every time the teams have met during the preseason. They are 7-2 in the preseason against Cincinnati. The Falcons also won in the regular season last year 29-27.
