1) Sunday September 20th: Carolina @ Atlanta
The Panthers are off a very bad game. The defense looked bad, the offense looked bad and the special teams looked bad. There was talk about making personnel changes and its just week two but the hot seat is getting warm. The straight up winner has covered in 24 of the past 28 series slugfests. Atlanta has floundered in 20 of 28 ATS at home off a straight up win. Carolina has clicked at an 8-3-1 ATS number as division dogs and it is 11-3 ATS versus a division foe off a straight up loss. The Panthers win this game on the field so the points look great here.
Play: Panthers +6
2) Sunday September 20th: Bengals @ Packers
The Packers are off a huge win and the Bengals off an embarrassing loss. While normally this would line up for more trouble for the Bengals I like them in this spot. With the exception of giving up a tipped ball for a touchdown the Bengals defense has played well of late and in the last couple games last year to end the season. The Bengals are 22-14-1 ATS on the road lately and the Packers just 7-13 as home chalk in September. Take the points with the Bengals.
Play: Bengals +10
3) Sunday September 20th: Arizona @ Jacksonville
Arizona was upset at home and they now have to hit the road. If you remember in past seasons teams do not travel well to the east coast and Arizona has been a perfect example of this getting trounced on recent visits. The Jaguar defense looked good against the Colts and will be tested again this week. The defending NFC champs are 4-22 ATS on the road versus a non-division opponent after a SU loss and they have failed to cover 22 of 31 as road pups after bowing straight up and ATS. Jacksonville is 11-6-1 as home favorites of 3 1/2 points or less and 9-3-1 ATS in its last 13 home debuts. Jacksonvill will roll over the Red Birds this week.
Play: Jacksonville -3
4) Sunday September 20th: Baltimore @ San Diego
The Chargers are off a short week and have to try and get ready to take on the Ravens. The Ravens tore up the Chiefs and looked great on the offensive side of the ball. They set a franchise record with 501 yards against the Chiefs and Coach John Harbaugh said afterward that his team would be throwing more this season. The Ravens have gone over the total at a 6-2-1 rate on grass and at a 13-3-1 pace as underdogs. The Over is 8-0 in Chargers last 8 games in September and 5-1-1 in the last 7 home games for the Bolts. The oddsmakers have yet to adjust to the new offensive system of the Ravens and this one goes way over the total.
Play: Over 39.5
5) Sunday September 20th: Giants @ Dallas
The offense of the Cowboys looked great in week one as the Cowboys amasses plenty of points and yards against the Bucs. They did however give up plenty of rushing yards and will play a much better defense this time around. The Cowboys are 3-18-1 as division home favorites and Big Blue is 16-6-1 as road dogs off straight up win. Take the point sin a close game that the Giants should win on the road.
Play: Giants +3
6) Sunday September 20th: Seattle @ San Francisco
The 49ers upset the Cardinals on the road and come back in week two against division at home in the opener. This 49er team is no fluke and until people realize it we will take advantage of the low line. I love to back teams coming home off an outright win as an underdog on the road. They are brimming with confidence and it carries over. Seattle has flopped in 16 of 23 ATS off a double-digit division win. The 49ers are 4-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record and 4-1-1 ATS in the last six overall. They win this game big and cover the small number.
Play 49ers -1
7) Monday September 21st: Colts @ Miami
The Colts and the fish match up in what should be a pretty decent Monday Night game. The Colts had a slow scoring first game against a Jags defense but will have some room to throw against this Miami defense. Indianapolis has jumped the total at a 25-16-1 rate on the road when facing a non-division rival. The Colts on defense have started bringing the blitz more offense and against the Wildcat that could lead to turnovers. The Dolphins may have a change at QB if they do not score points. They should be able to get it going. The Over is 23-9 in Colts last 32 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Over is 7-2 in Dolphins last 9 games following a Straight up loss and 4-1 in the last five meetings. Look for a high scoring game on Monday night.
