VietBet.comNFL Week 7 Betting Previews- Houston Texans vs. Tennessee Titans

Point spread: Tennessee -3

Over/Under: 43.5

The outright lead in the division will be on the line when the Houston Texans invade LP Field in Nashville for a Sunday afternoon AFC South tilt with the Tennessee Titans. The game is set to get underway at 1 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast regionally on CBS.

Houston’s fast start has grinded to a halt with back-to-back losses to Oakland and Baltimore to fall to 3-3 straight-up (3-3 against the spread). It blew a late-game lead against the Raiders in a 25-20 loss as a 4.5-point home favorite in Week 5, but was manhandled last Sunday by the Ravens in a 29-14 loss as a seven-point road underdog. The total stayed ‘under’ in both games and has now stayed ‘under’ in five of the six games overall.

The absence of All-Pro wide receiver Andre Johnson has put a major crimp in the Texan’s normally productive offense and it is very likely he will miss his third-straight game with a hamstring injury. Houston’s defense is still trying to adjust to the loss of linebacker Mario Williams, who was lost for the season with a torn chest muscle.

Tennessee comes into this game fresh of a bye with an overall record of 3-2 SU (2-3 ATS). It took a beating from another AFC North foe its last time out in a 38-17 loss to Pittsburgh as a three-point road underdog. The total has gone ‘over’ in three of its five games.

Matt Hasselbeck has led the resurgent Titan offense with 1,414 yards passing and nine touchdown throws. Nate Washington is the team’s leading receiver with 28 catches for 389 yards. Chris Johnson has struggled to get the running game going with just 250 yards on 83 carries. He continues to be hampered with a tight hamstring, but is listed as probable for Sunday.

The Texans are 6-12 ATS in their last 18 games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games on the road. The total has stayed ‘under’ in eight of their last 11 games overall.

The Titans are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall and the total has gone ‘over’ in nine of their last 13 games at home.

Head-to- head in this series, Houston is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings and 1-4 ATS in its last five trips to Tennessee. The total has gone ‘over’ in seven of the last 10 meetings overall and in the last five games played at LP Field.

Stick with Tennessee to take advantage of a punch-less Texan’ offense to grind out a win at home.

The Pick: Tennessee 20          Houston 13
