The battle between the Blues and Oilers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Edmonton was handed a 6-2 defeat on Thursday at Scottrade Center.
St. Louis was favored by -275 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 5.5.
Jaden Schwartz (2), T.J. Oshie, Vladimir Sobotka, Alex Pietrangelo, and Vladimir Tarasenko each scored for the Blues in the victory. Sobotka opened the scoring for St. Louis, finding the back of the net at 18:48 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Vladimir Tarasenko and T.J. Oshie.
Ryan Miller turned in a 22-save effort for the Blues.
Mark Fraser and David Perron scored for the Oilers, finding the net behind Ryan Miller.
Edmonton got a 31-stop effort from Ben Scrivens in the loss.
On the power play, St. Louis went 1-for-5, while the Oilers were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
St. Louis outshot Edmonton 37-24 in the game.
St. Louis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Predators. The Oilers will aim to get back on the winning track at Detroit.
