The Flames were a +105 underdog in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.
Calgary got goals from Michael Cammalleri (2), Steve Begin, and Jiri Hudler in the victory. Hudler opened the scoring at 8:10 of the first period.
Joey MacDonald turned in a 27-save effort for the Flames.
Jamie McGinn, Ryan O'Reilly, and Gabriel Landeskog scored for the Avalanche, finding the net behind Joey MacDonald.
Colorado got a 23-stop effort from Semyon Varlamov in the loss.
On the power play, Calgary went 1-for-3, while the Avalanche were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
Calgary lost the shots on goal battle to Colorado by a margin of 30-27.
Next game, Calgary takes its act home to face Columbus looking for another win. For Colorado, they head on the road to face Vancouver.
