Kyle Turris (2), Chris Phillips, and Patrick Wiercioch each scored for the Senators in the victory. Wiercioch opened the scoring for Ottawa, finding the back of the net at 4:03 of the second period. The goal was assisted by Sergei Gonchar and Kyle Turris.
Ben Bishop turned in a 33-save effort for the Senators.
Drew Stafford (2) and Mike Weber scored for the Sabres, finding the net behind Ben Bishop.
Ryan Miller stopped 30 of 34 shots for the Sabres, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Ottawa went 1-for-3, while the Sabres were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
Ottawa lost the shots on goal battle to Buffalo by a margin of 36-34.
Ottawa looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Jets. The Sabres will aim to get back on the winning track at Washington.
