Los Angeles won as a -120 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 4.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Jeff Carter (3) and Dwight King each scored for the Kings in the victory. King opened the scoring for Los Angeles, finding the back of the net at 13:15 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Drew Doughty and Trevor Lewis.
Jonathan Quick turned in a 24-save effort for the Kings.
Mike Smith stopped 36 of 40 shots for the Coyotes, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Los Angeles went 2-for-8, while the Coyotes were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
