The 57th Hockey betting All-Star game should have a lot of excitement surrounding it simply because of the venue in Montreal. There are not many places in the world where hockey is more important than in Montreal. The Montreal fans will have a lot to cheer about as many of the Canadiens made the Eastern Conference squad including goaltender Carey Price and forward Alexi Kovalev who was named team captain. San Jose’s Joe Thornton will captain the Western Conference team.
The team with the best record in the NHL will try and bounce back from a rare loss as the San Jose Sharks host the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. The Sharks had their nine-game winning streak snapped on Saturday as Dwayne Roloson stopped 41 shots to give the Oilers a 3-2 overtime win. The Sharks outshout the Oilers 43-17 but Roloson was fabulous. The Sharks still have the NHL’s best record at 22-3-2.
An excellent hockey betting matchup is on tap Wednesday night as the New York Rangers host the Vancouver Canucks. It is a battle of two top goaltenders as Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo faces New York’s Henrik Lundqvist. Luongo has five shutouts to lead the league while Lundqvist leads the league with 12 wins.
Two of the hottest teams in hockey meet on Wednesday night as the Chicago Blackhawks host the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks have won four straight while the Bruins have won six of their last seven. Chicago has not made the playoffs since 2001-2002 but look poised to make a serious run under head coach Joel Quenneville. Chicago is 6-0-2 at home this season and they have the highest average attendance in the league.
