Default Sit-N-Go tourneys

I just recently began to play in SNG tourneys. I have been frustrated with getting outdrawn at low limit ring games and decided that I needed a change of pace. Since I got my bankroll up to a considerable amount at Pacific I started to play some single table SNG tourneys. This site is known for its loose players and the SNG's are no exception. I have had a lot of success in the 10 person nitro SNG's and just got done taking second in a 40 person $2.50 buy in SNG. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same kind of success with these tourneys at any other sites, or do you think it is better in the MTT's. I'm running out of things to reply to and need to get to 50 so lets get some discussions going, LOL

When I play a sit n go, I usually tend to stick with heads up matches.

Bodog is my favorite, simply because I never have to wait long for a game.

I usually play $50.00 heads up, the game rarely last longer then 10-15 mins.

The best is when you win one of those in 1 hand. You would be suprised how many players will call you all in after the flop or turn, because they don't think you "Have it".

I don't go all in unless I "Have it"

My average for '06....82%

Not bad. And no, I will not disclose how many games I have played. Never know who is reading these forums.

As a side note. Titan poker has $200.00 heads up matches with very little wait time. If I have a great week on all my games, I treat myself to an ulcer on late Sunday night, and try my hand at that game.

'06 average is an even 80% for that game.

Again, I will not disclose actual number, but it is more then 10, and less then 25.

OH YEAH!!! Love me a heads up sit n go!!!!!

Well I haven't tried any heads up SNG's. For one thing I don't have the cash to put up for it. Maybe if I build the bank roll up for a while I'll give it a shot. You gotta love those people that will call an all in just because they think you don't have a hand. I know Doyle Brunson says you have to play the man not the cards, but you can't call all in with rags, lol.

You can play a heads up game for as little as $2.00 + .20cents. In fact, the $5.00 +.50cent heads up matches are a decent return for your time. Plus....heads up experience is truly priceless. If you play any tournaments, that experience will help you BIG time at the final table.

Well I've won another $15 today at Pacific so I'm thinking that this weekend I'm going to see how I can do in the heads up games. I do prefer to play in tournaments but I definitely need some work on my heads up final table play. I've done decent in the past when I've been one of the last two, but looking back I know that there were moves I made that were just ridiculous. I actually saw some heads up at Pacific for $1.50.

( S&Gs )... SIT & GOES ARE GREAT!!!

HOWEVER, AND BE ADVISED, YOU WILL START TO SEE
DISCIPLINED AND WELL DISGUISED "PROFESSIONAL POKER PLAYERS"
AT THESE LEVELS:

$20.00
$50.00
$100.00 +

Good point. Once you cross that threshold of 20 bucks.....it is open season on the fish

I will give you some advice....(to everyone) Play after midnight your time. You will be AMAZED at how poor the players are that play late at night. One reason is, it's alot of players from Europe (time zones). And in Eurpoe, NL Hold 'em isn't the game of choice.

Omaha is.

So you get alot of players trying their hand at Texas Hold 'em. And alot of players like the speed of heads up play.

Like J Angler J said. Be careful of your game when you step up in limits. Don't be afraid! Just make sure you play your A game.

In fact....try this. (Man I really need to start my own site!) Put the cash (plus fee) on your keyboard. That way, EVERY HAND you will know what is at stake.

It is always harder to make stupid decisions, when you know what is at stake.

Good advice from both you. I am going to stay at the lower level games for a while longer but will make my way to some bigger ones as my bankrolls grow at various sites. I've hit kind of a unlucky streak today so need to do some repair work.
