Latest Free Agent Moves Talks between Giants and Broncos were so far along that the Giants brought Al Wilson to New York the night of March 22 hoping to complete a deal. But talks hit an unexpected snag today and broke off, leaving the Giants still searching for a linebacker and the Broncos still looking to find a new home for Wilson.
The week of moving and shaking for the Houston Texans continues. The Texans have decided to cut quarterback David Carr and running back Domanick Williams -- the former Domanick Davis. Each is now free to sign with another team. The Texans also are expected to match the offer sheet that restricted free-agent fullback Vonte Leach signed with the New York Giants.
The Dallas Cowboys have reached agreement with free-agent safety Ken Hamlin on a one-year, $2.5 million deal. Hamlin also had visited the Saints, but he spent the past few days trying to finalize the deal with the Cowboys. Now Hamlin and Roy Williams will form one of the most formidable safety tandems in the league. The Miami Dolphins and quarterback Trent Green have all but reached a contract agreement; there no longer is an issue about whether those two sides can strike a deal. The issue is between the Dolphins and the Chiefs. If those two teams can reach a trade agreement, Green will become a Dolphin. Otherwise, Miami could opt to try to sign David Carr, who will be released by the Houston Texans.
Seattle re-signed free-agent wide receiver Bobby Engram.
The New York Jets signed free-agent defensive end Michael Haynes, the former Chicago first-round draft choice.
Green Bay re-signed restricted free-agent tight end Tory Humphrey.
The New York Giants re-signed restricted free-agent wide receiver Darius Watts.
Tennessee re-signed restricted free-agent defensive tackle Marcus White.
The Detroit Lions signed free-agent guard Zach Piller to a one-year deal worth $760,000. Piller, formerly of the Tennesse Titans, also had visited the Redskins.
The Arizona Cardinals reached agreement with free-agent fullback Terrelle Smith on a two-year deal. The Browns recently released Smith.

The Atlanta Falcons have found a potential replacement for the recently traded quarterback, Matt Schaub. The Falcons signed former Baltimore backup Chris Redman to a one-year deal tonight. Redman played at Louisville, where Atlanta's new head man, Bobby Petrino, coached.
Stop all those rumors of Marshall Faulk reuniting with Mike Martz in Detroit or possibly returning to the St. Louis Rams. Not happening. Faulk has decided to retire. He and the Rams will make a joint announcement March 26 at the owners meetings in Phoenix. Faulk now will be eligible for Hall of Fame Class of 2011, along with Jerome Bettis and Curtis Martin. What an RB class!
After acquiring quarterback Matt Schaub in a trade with the Falcons, the Texans have agreed with Schaub on a six-year, $48 million deal, and have announced he will be the starting quarterback and that David Carr is on the trading block.
And so the game of quarterback dominoes apparently is under way. Former Oakland free-agent QB Marques Tuiasosopo has reached agreement with the New York Jets on a one-year contract worth the veteran minimum. The Panthers and Browns also had been interested in him.
Chicago's free-agent defensive tackle Ian Scott arrived Wednesday night in Atlanta for a Thursday visit.
The Dallas Cowboys signed four-year CFL veteran wide receiver, Jamel Richardson, who has racked up 118 career catches for 1,501 yards for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Richardson attended Victor Valley Community College before entering the Canadian Football League.

The Atlanta Falcons have traded quarterback Matt Schaub to the Houston Texans for a second-round pick in this year's draft, a second-round pick in next year's draft, and a flip flop of spots in the first round this year. Atlanta now will go to No. 8 from No. 10; Houston will go from No. 8 to No. 10.
The Chiefs released veteran offensive tackle Kyle Turley, who is considering retirement.
After Kansas City placed long snapper Adam Johnson on waivers, Tampa Bay claimed him.
Oakland signed free agent quarterback Josh Booty, the former LSU standout.
New England re-signed restricted free agent defensive back Rashad Baker.
Former Saints safety Omar Stoutmire signed with the Redskins, whom he played with two seasons ago.
After about a month-long absence, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid will be returining to work Friday, when he is scheduled to speak to the media at 11 a.m. ET. Reid also will be attending next week's owners meetings in Phoenix, where he will speak with reporters once again.
The Indianapolis Colts re-signed free-agent defensive tackle Dan Klecko to a one-year contract with one-third of it fully guaranteed.
Tuesday, March 20
The Philadelphia Eagles reached agreement with free-agent defensive tackle Montae Reagor on a three-year, $8.25 million contract that includes $2 million in guaranteed money.
The Washington Redskins have agreed to trade safety Adam Archuleta to the Chicago Bears for a conditional sixth-round draft pick. Archuleta restructured his contract to soften the salary-cap hit the Redskins will have to take this season, and now Washington will get back a draft pick for him. Bears coach Lovie Smith was Archuleta's defensive coordinator in St. Louis and has coveted the safety since he took over as Chicago's head coach in January 2004. He finally has gotten his man.
The Denver Broncos reached agreement on a one-year deal with free-agent wide receiver Brandon Stokley. The 30-year-old Stokley also visited the New Orleans Saints but opted for the Broncos. Stokley is coming off a torn achilles, but he is expected to be ready for training camp.
The Houston Texans reached agreement with free-agent linebacker Shawn Barber on a three-year, $5 million deal that includes $2.2 million in guaranteed money.
Carolina re-signed restricted free-agent defensive tackle Jordan Carstens.
Cincinnati re-signed restricted free-agent punter Kyle Larson.
Indianapolis re-signed restricted free-agent guard Ryan Lilja.
Cleveland signed free-agent center Lennie Friedman.
