Well, now that the playoffs have started I am back to my normal losing ways in the nfl. I had a great regular season and I want to make sure I don’t give it all back during the post season. I think I just read too many things last week, so this week I am making my picks on Monday rather than waiting all week. Let’s try this again…..I can almost guarantee that I will not go winless this week.

Seattle +9 vs Chicago (best bet)…………………..Chicago is the better team, no doubt about that, but I am not laying 9 points with their quarterback, end of story. Seattle has been there, so they have some experience. If seattle can slow down the offense of the cowboys, I know they can nearly stop Chicago. Championships are won with defense, and Chicago has that, that is why I expect them to win this game in spite of their offense. I just don’t see them covering more than a td. I also wanted to grab this early as I can see this line dropping to maybe even seven. This game just smells like a 17-10, 17-13 type of game to me. I feel pretty good about this one.

San Diego -4.5 vs New England (strong play)…………..As great as San Diego has been this year, I think after last week’s showing, some people are going to jump on New England’s/Tom Brady’s bandwagon. Not me. Huge difference in this one is that it is NOT IN NEW ENGLAND. The jets seems to be able to move the ball half decent on the pats, so I know the chargers will. In addition to that, the bolts defense will match the patriot defense. Home field and too much offense should make the chargers a winner this week. I am liking my first two picks this upcoming weekend.

Baltimore -4 vs Colts (regular play)……………….I love the Baltimore team with McNair at QB. That is all this team ever really needed to become a great team. Colts not anywhere near the team they used to be or people think they are. At home they would have a shot, but not in Baltimore. This line is only four based on previous editions of the colts. I just don’t see the colts defense playing like it did last week. I said before that championships are won with defense and we all know what the ravens are capable of. I see Manning forcing some throws that will lead to a couple of int’s and some nice field position for the ravens. It won’t be a blowout, but Baltimore should win by seven any way.

Philly +5.5 vs New Orleans (regular play)…………..This is my least favorite play for the weekend. New Orleans might be so pumped up for this playoff game at home that they could destroy them, it is certainly a possibility. I have to play this game as it is the Saturday night game. I am really just guessing and hoping the eagles will continue to play well. I don’t see the points coming into play here. Eagles either win outright or they get blown off the field…..just a gut feeling here.

I am sticking with these teams, I know that, but I might be back to upgrade San Diego and/or Baltimore.

Good Luck Everybody!!!

I am going to start posting college hoops everyday now that regular conference play is underway. Will be back later with those. Check it out in the college hoops thread.
