Default nfl week two

Best Bets (2-2)(-0.60 units)
Strong Plays (1-2)(-2.40 units)
Regular Plays (0-2)(-2.20 units)

Overall (3-6)(-5.20 units)

OPINIONS (1-3) (no units, just for fun)

I am disappointed with my two Monday night best bets. I loved Washington and San Diego. I really thought I would win both. A very typical week in the nfl for me last week. I always think I have winners, but I don’t. I did warn everybody about my nfl picks. You can follow me in the colleges, but beware in the nfl. Lets try this again, hopefully with better results.

Miami -6 vs Buffalo (best bet)…………..First of all, I am glad I waited on this game as the line is down to six. Way too much is being made into the first week of the nfl. If we went by the way these teams supposedly looked last week, should Buffalo be the favorite? Buffalo is not as good as they looked last week, trust me on that one. Everybody talked about Culpepper and how rusty he looked. Take away those two interceptions at the end where the steelers knew what was coming and he did not play that bad. Lets just say Miami or Culpepper did not look that good like everybody said last week. I will tell you what, for playing so poorly the fish had a lead in the game with six minutes to do and could have easily won at Pittsburgh. Yes, I am a dolphins fan and despite the 0-1 start, I am happy with how they looked when you consider the environment they had to go into and Culpepper making his debut. Saben and the dolphins are going to come out this week and put a hurting of the bills. I am very happy with Miami’s quick defense. I see some turnovers leading to short drives for dolphin touchdowns. I was a little disappointed with Ronnie Brown, but should I be? How many runners go into Pittsburgh and do well…not many. Ronnie can only play better this week. I could go on and on about this game but I won’t. Miami wins by at least 13.

Cincinnati -10 vs Cleveland (best bet)……………Yes, I know this is a rivalry and anything is possible, but this is going to be a special year for the bengals if they can stay healthy. I don’t see any team (sorry steeler fans) in the afc stopping them. I plan on taking this team just about every week unless the lines makers start going crazy and making them 17 point favs or more and they might end up doing that. This team is loaded and they can only stop themselves. No they are not going to go 16-0 like I make is sound, but 14-2 or 13-3 is a possibility. On the other side of the ball, what is so special about Cleveland? They are the browns. At home in the dog pound they can give you trouble, but not on the road, especially at Cincinnati. This one is going to be ugly from start to finish. 48-17.

Carolina -1 vs Minnesota (strong play)…………….Lets see….Carolina loses at home to Atlanta, Minnesota goes on the road on national tv and beat Washington, who is supposed to be pretty good this year. Now Carolina is a favorite at Minnesota? I am not going to be one of the suckers who take the Vikings. I know Smith might not play for the Panthers, but I don’t care, they just won’t beat them as badly without him. I am very surprised how many people are on the Vikings in this one. Carolina, who is one of the favorites to win the Superbowl this year is not going to start off 0-2, write that down. Yes, this game will probably be closer than I make it sound, it is at Minny and they are playing with confidence right now, but talent will win out at the end of this game. I am just asking for a win, not to cover a touchdown.

Tampa Bay +5.5 vs Atlanta (strong play)………..Another line that I think is based on last weeks performances. Tampa Bay gets shutout while Atlanta beats up on Carolina. Again, if this is a true indicator of how these teams really are, this line would be Atlanta -10 or better. Just remember the old saying “You are never as good, or as bad as your last game.” Michael Vick seems to save his worst games for the Bucs defense. I don’t think Tampa will put a bunch of points on the board, but I think their defense will rise to the occasion and keep them in this game with a real shot at winning outright in the fourth quarter.

New England -6 vs Jets (regular play)………….Is New England that bad? Are the Jets that good? All this talk about Pennington and how he is back. Yes he is decent, but that is all. He will be injured again soon like always. I really like this New England team to get back to their old ways and this week I think they will be more ready to play after last weeks near disaster. Better team, better talent, better coaching. The game might be close since it is at the Jets, but Pats will win in the end by seven or more.

San Diego -11.5 vs Tennessee (regular play)…………..My theme this week seems to be going against how a team looked last week. This is one of the few games where I think we saw the real teams last week. San Diego is that good and Tennessee is that bad. The Chargers have a chance to pitch another shutout, but that is hard to do back to back weeks. I know the offense will put up their share. Eleven and a half is a lot of cover in an nfl game, but this half blow out written all over it. I think Tennessee is a confused team right now and they are in for a really long season. McNair is the only reason they were competitive before and he is no longer there.

Green Bay +2 vs New Orleans (regular play)…………I even surprised myself taking this one. I think Mr. Favre should have retired and they just looked plain bad last week. Now New Orleans, who is not that good is favored at Green Bay. There is no way that the Packers are that bad. If they are they need to drop down to the college level. The packers despite sucking last year, lost a ton of close games. There are not as bad as they look, but I could be wrong about that, we will see after this week. I pretty much am playing them because they are only getting two and it looks like they are not even capable of winning a single game this year. That is why they will be 1-1 after this week.

OPINIONS (no units, just for fun)

St Louis -3 vs San Fran…………This is a team St Louis can beat.

Seattle -7 vs Arizona………Seattle much better at home, Cards much worse on the road., almost made this a regular play.

Baltimore -12 vs Oakland………Baltimore with McNair contenders again while Oakland might be favored over Temple.

Detroit +9 vs Chicago………Don’t think the Bears are as good as people think. Don’t think the Lions are as bad as people think. Stranger things have happened in a very strange division.

I don’t really like anybody yet in the Sunday night game, but I will at least throw out an opinion on it sometime Sunday and I know I will be back for the Monday night game. There you have it, plenty of picks…play them or fade them. My feeling won’t get hurt in the nfl. At least they all sound like winners, don’t they? Come on, throw a dog a bone….at least let me think that.

Good Luck Everybody!!

I am with you on all your plays 100%
That cold be a bad sign
Might have to fade back with a all money line 7 team parlay
but I think you have all winners
